Honestly the GOP is finished regardless. Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia will be blue within eight years. The only tradeoff is Ohio is looking to be reliably red for the foreseeable future.

Agreed. The Electoral College was established to help prevent the, "tyranny of the majority" over the rich, landed elite who actually ran the country. The framers didn't even try to hide it, they stated it in plain English in Federalist 10.
This entire country is based off the premise that democracy is fine until the poor people rise up and try to take what's theirs. The Electoral College lets them have elections so that people feel like their vote matters, but they weigh the votes in such a manner that the rich will always stay powerful, and in control. --- ... You do not think people outside of your own bubble matter, which is why youre Ok with controlling them.
