I know we're ripping on the character, but @NightMarishPie you are playing well. if I used ZSS I wouldn't have the same success you are. Takes a good player to utilize the strengths of the character.

haha thanks i know you guys are just messing around. no worries, i dont know a single person who enjoys fighting against ZSS, myself included. im pretty much a one trick so I need to get better at wolf and other characters.

Belmonts are my kryptonite in this game. So it would be good to learn them and become my weakness.

It depends where you get hit but generally most smash attacks are stronger on Pichu than Pichu's fsmash is on others. It's also weaker than Pikachu's sweetspot f smash and slower.

Every other move does suffer from poor kb scaling especially post ftilt nerf. Generally why you want to avoid being at the ledge vs Pichu because every other move doesn't kill until higher percentages if you stay around the middle of the stage. One of the biggest problems with me is that I don't use thunder enough. Still with the right spot and set up you can gimp people at 20% with thunder but generally even though people think Pichu has more kill power than Pika it's the other way around because Pikachu has a disgusting dash attack, upthrow and nair dragdown to downsmash.

That and G&W. The King's buffs. Ok they are good, but it doesn't address his competitive viability. But on a casual side, make him hella scary. Up air kills much sooner. Up tilt is a guaranteed kill at 108% with average weight characters. The adjusted knockback angle for DTilt is great like Captain Falcon's. The knockback for Fair is also great to edgeguard better. And Inhale is so damn quick and has greater range on the ground almost like K.Rool.

Hmm love that they buffed Isabelle's uptilt last patch. Now it's more consistent in combo potential due to it being faster even at higher percentages. I think jab to upsmash comes out earlier than jab to downsmash but I have to see.

he did offer some help via DM. he showed me a video on wavebouncing (something I didn't even know was a thing), and told me his control scheme in order to perform wavebounces a little easier. he told me that he is mostly good because of his movement. but wow, I forgot how good he was. very good at punishing and using jab locks. really nice guy. he isn't around that much it seems.

Sounds good and I would think if you play more patient against wolf that would be in my favor since the blaster is so good. My ZSS recently has been feeling way better than the wolf so I gotta get the wolf back up

you're good with online zss
her combo game is noticeably worse but her evasion and safety is ridiculous and she's probably my second least favorite to fight behind sonic

wolf is mechanically a lot simpler and his 2-3 hit strings are pretty beefy but i can't think of a matchup you'd want to play him over zss besides the rats. i think he's even with g&w but g&w loses to zss. wolf is probably top 15ish while zss is top 5 but wolf is definitely a pretty reliable fighter against a majority of the cast with no real losing matchups

also crap i ruined my near 50-game online winstreak by sding at 0%
i fought a lot of little macs and beat all three with cheese (and then blocked because fuck mac) and a couple clouds
cloud is actually a lot easier to fight when you get your parry game going because his shield stun masks how punishable his moves can be (i was able to forward smash by parrying his dash)

So I practiced wave bouncing a little bit. Since it's a neutral B that I'm trying to wavebounce, I believe I'm supposed to press c stick diagonal + special...but I never perform the wave bounce. Instead Yoshi does his neutral b backwards (which might be nice in some situations, but I'm not trying to do that). I don't know if I'm doing something incorrectly or if neutral b wavebounce does not work with Yoshi. Pretty sure I've seen it done though.

haha thanks yeah zss plays so different online vs offline. i dont know a single person who enjoys the fight but it's a muich more entertaining matchup for both parties offline.

that's interesting that you think ZSS is better than wolf though. I think wolf is leagues better than ZSS online and offline. the combos and the moves are so much more consistent and his so much harder. i actually much prefer zss vs the rats, i actually only picked up wolf initially to fight other zss's since he pretty much dumpsters zss. Wolf is also much better vs joker than zss is. I find that matchup extremely difficult. he's just so good all around.

Dont know if there is a shortcut, but Ive always done it the same way.

You can push a direction and then hit a neutral B move to do it in the direction you previously pushed. The wavebounce is when you actually hit the direction just after you press B. So its more like hold a direction to drift and then hit B and the opposite direction. Its actually kind of easy to do with Snake.

idk, i thought zss being top 10 was a pretty common opinion nowadays, with a lot of pros and most of japan calling her top 5 or even the best character in the game (in japan)
she has probably the best neutral in the entire game, a great disadvantage, and a solid advantage where she can randomly kill at like 40% when you're at the ledge
marss's reason for thinking she's only #12 is because "lol it's your fault for playing at the ledge" when she's all about overwhelming with her speed and forcing you in bad situations

wolf is very solid but his disadvantage is the worst of any top tier (though peach's can be bad depending on matchups) and he doesn't really have the explosive options that other top tiers have besides two-framing or the biggest side b read ever

haha marss will spit all these facts about zss which im like, "yeah i agree," then he's like oh yeah zss is barely top 20 and im like bruh you dont win genesis with a barely top 20 character. definitely top 10 for sure. zss can definitely delete you at anything sub 70 percent. the problem is once you start facing the other fast top tiers, zss becomes a bit underwhelming because speed was the main advantage she had and now she doesnt. pika, wolf, shulk, roy, joker, palu just work her so hard all while having dumber (in my biased opinion) combo and kill options than her. i'm never going to true combo you for 50%+ whereas all of those other characters can do it with ease.

wolf will do these random fair into throw combos which give you 60% in 4 moves with no thinking required and im like wtf. but his disadvantage is terrible as is his shield pressure/out of shield options. either way, both great characters for sure.

yeah it's basically "would i rather win one of the safest neutrals multiple times with an explosive factor" or "would i rather win a worse neutral only once or twice"

this tradeoff is why i find shiek so interesting because her neutral is the dumbest thing so every time she gains kill confirms she becomes much stronger
