Not including the charger is still a stupid choice. You shouldn't be allowed to provide a product (especially as expensive as an iPhone) without a way to charge it.

The price is whatever, I think the max a flagship phone shouldn't be more than $1000, if it at least sticks around that I don't have much to complain about (I would prefer less but whatever I won't be buying iPhone 12 - maybe iPhone 13 or 14)

not including a charger means that it'll be harder to get converts from android. plus, it'll just let apple take even more things away in future iphone to sell it back to the customer

I'm a longtime android user, but I recall making this same argument against Nintendo for not including a charge cable with the 3DS XL and being called a troll and a poor person, etc, etc... as well as an infinite number of trolls crawling out of the woodwork to tell me "there's absolutely no reason you don't already have that cable".

So as much as you'd think people would never defend this type of garbage, brand loyalty is more powerful than logic and reason.

tbf, IIRC iPhone 8+ have quick charge (and wireless charging) they just didn't come with a fast-charger, for some ridiculous reason that nobody really knows. So the potential was always there, it just wasn't really an option unless you wanted to pay more for your own charger.

Apple being anti-consumer enough to not include a charger is suddenly making more sense to me.

People are replacing phones less frequently. I think the average is now once every 1.7 years, up from 1.5.

So phone companies have to make phones more expensive to grow sales.

So people buy less frequently.

And so on.

My Galaxy Watch Active2 LTE didn't come with a charger brick. Just the watch case, leather strap, and the wireless/magnetic disc that you rest the watch on to charge.
