Transgender character

Do they have juice during the apocalypse, or is naughty dog really that infiltrated by feminine bodies being problematic that they had to make a completely unrealistic body type? I mean she has the build of a young young Fedor Emelianeko.

You know when creators say a particularly buxom body type is unrealistic, and you call that bullshit out?

You're doing the same thing, but for a different look. Cis women have bodies like that. Rare, sure, but so are the particularly buxom body types.

Video games are a visual medium. Character design should implicitly convey information about a character. Abbys design is no different than how a hundred male protagonists with similarly unnatural proportions have been designed. The only difference is that we havent been conditioned to expect it.

Think about her character. Wouldnt it be far less realistic if she was running around and physically handling opponents the way she does looking like Lara Croft? Wouldnt it cheapen the game if they made her look like a supermodel with fake lips and huge tits?

I'd say so. I just don't get how anybody could look at character who's desire for revenge drove them to become a post-apocalypse murder hobo assassin and think "ugh, it's just so unrealistic that she's kinda jacked, these guys obviously hate real female bodies."

Yeah, game creator should have given her curves and large breats to convey her strength compared to the weakling ellie.

The environment is a major piece. Of course there is an incredibly tiny percent of women with a body type like that, but they are women that don't live in the apocalypse and compete in things that specifically call for that body type.

um, the game clearly shows a gym, in a flashback, her ex comments on her strength (before she's brolic) and refers to her strength training, and there are other muscular enemies in the game.

and unlike the first TLoU, the characters aren't scrounging for food, or anything like that.

In both games, Ellie fights as she needs to do for her size. She's quick and opportunistic, and stabby. She's not bending enemies over her knee and snapping their neck or choking them out.

If she fought like Joel or Abby, this would be a good point.

Diet and proper supplements would have to be needed as well for a woman to have that physique. Again, not impossible, but in that situation it is so far fetched. I have noticed that just about all the female character models seem to have all been given very masculine features. This seems to be a trend in trying to go so far the other direction from ridiculous blow up doll body types of the 90s and early 2000s that it is unrealistic in the other way.

The original game didn't have soul caliber jiggle physics, but had realistic body types for people leaving in an apocalypse with a lack of resources.

Also, I see jacked females at my gym all the time, but they still don't have proportions like that.

Why are you so defensive? I legitimately thought it was a transgender character and I think there is basic logic to think that body type is wholly unrealistic in that environment.

Also, you are being dishonest by saying mildly. We know base on the average female body type that is not mild. Her being shredded and thicker with a female body shape is one thing, but the mass and shape of the body is completely unrealistic.

Female characters in general were made unrealistically masculine as well, and they have even cited she who must not be name as an influence...which is baffling.

I wonder if Tess had equipment if she would have been jacked too. I'll be honest though I had managed to stay away from most conversations about TLOU2 but had heard about a transgender character and really thought it was Abby too.

Also as pointed out several times she has access to a modern gym. She's never really lived on her own as far as I can tell.
