Because taxpayer money is government money, and government and religion should be kept separated at all times.

It is separated, for each citizen, their child gets ___ voucher for funding the school that they attend.

Parents gets to choose which school they want their child to attend.

Be it Private/Public/Religious Private.

Government has no say in which school your kid goes to, that's on the parent.

The government isn't favoring any one specific religion.

You're just being Anti-Religion and want to punish those who would practice a religion.

You think you're entitled to the entire share of money and anybody who likes religion should get lost.

I went to a Catholic school and learned the theory of evolution just like my public school counterparts. The only differences between us was the fact I took religion classes and didnt have to mess with state testing.

Yeah, the polytheistic religions of old were so much more interesting. Not to mention believable too. The state of the world makes much more sense if you believe that there's a dozen or so temperamental vindictive egomaniacs that each control certain aspects of reality rather than one omnipotent guy who supposedly wants peace and love for everyone and could make everyone's lives perfect but he just refuses to do so.

I wasnt too far off in Louisiana. The only schools teaching really whacked out curriculum are the really small church schools. I stuck with sending my daughter to a catholic school over one of those. I refuse to send her to public school until high school...theyre awful in my area.

Yeah this seems like a pretty dangerous ruling, like it wouldn't have a huge effect short term but could have a significant impact down the line. I reckon the people saying it's fine because all religions can benefit are being facetious as Christians by far will be the ones reaping the value of it, and these kids will one day be adults some of which will be policy makers.

Granted this can all be cut off at the head by not giving private schools tax funding (why the fuck is that even a thing?) but this was a ruling on giving non secular schools "equal footing" not misuse of taxes, where I'd argue secular education was the equal footing in the first place (or at least it is supposed to be)

I think all schools should go to the private sector and let them compete for the tax funding rather than just automatically be given money no matter how poor the results.
