None. Fauci said in March vaccines take 12-18 months to develop. So earliest might be March 2021 for that.

He even said earlier today that its not a guarantee a vaccine will be ready by early 2021. Were truly in this for the long haul.

Can you imagine how crazy this is going to be when August rolls around and kids have to go back to school? That's going to create so many problems. Kids aren't going to want to wear masks for 8+ hours, and even if you somehow get them to, the teachers are at a huge risk of contracting the virus from these children.

Agreed. I think lunch time is probably where the spread is most likely to happen. The kids have to take their mask off to eat. Even if they do the six feet apart social distancing if one coughs that would spread it to other kids. If the US can't even protect kids in daycares. Protecting them at school not happening.

Yeah there are some that were peaceful then hijacked by others and there were alot of people antagonizing police and basically trolling them until they responded and then they turned violent. Most of them started off as peaceful until some hijacked and tarnished the movement

I remember 2 months ago people saying California wasn't hit hard but NY was because they had herd immunity from it appearing earlier.

I looked it up looks like people were responding to that BS theory at the time it was being mentioned.

Face masks are mandatory in PA when leaving your house now, not just when going into businesses anymore. People criticize gov Wolf; and yeah hes made mistakes. But I think hes been fantastic at handling this all around.

This takes a burden off front line workers who were being made accountable for enforcing mask wear inside their place of work. If you are not going to wear a mask, stay home.

Starting to suspect I may have caught the virus. Have a random ass rash on my forearm and hand and my chest started hurting like hell the other day and Ive had some had headaches tho that could just be heat stress.

No fever, cough, breathing or taste/smell issues though. Hmmm.

I remember when this all began in China, they said a low oxygen saturation level could be an indicator of covid. I wonder if oxygen levels drop prior to symptoms arriving?

The Moderna, Pfifer, and Oxford vaccines have shown pretty good results in the early trials in terms of antibody production and safety. I'm cautiously optimistic that one or more of them will be approved by the end of 2020 or early 2021. When the vaccine will be widely available though is a whole different question, producing hundreds of millions to billions of a vaccine won't happen overnight.

Dr. Fauci's statements are the worst case scenario. He's not saying it's likely, just that we can't rule it out. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

This is true. The antivaxxers and people who are skeptical of such a quickly made vaccine may prevent us from reaching herd immunity. However, if the vaccine is effective in the majority of people, then at least those of us who get vaccinated will (probably) be protected.

Another thought on Arizona's numbers: AZ, with 7 million people, is reporting as many new cases per day as the European Union, with 446 million.

That was yesterday so it might be even worse today.

Chilling. I figure it happens mostly at night because people lay down to sleep, and realize that they just can't breathe and are afraid they won't make it through the night.

New Yorker here from NYC and the sirens weren't only at night it happened several times a day at the peak. I was naive at the time and thought it was for someone having a heart attack or getting shot. Looking back majority of those were probably corona patients. Since I barely hear ambulance sirens now. And back then it was like 40-50 times a day.

Now that I am going out more often I am finding out stuff like several people at my local grocery store died from corona. And 20 people in my apartment building died from it. I had thought I wasn't connected to it but turns out my neighborhood was hit hard. I just wasn't leaving my apartment or talking to anyone or I would have seen the murals that were outside.
