lmao put a hit on people. Are you fucking kidding me? Thats FEAR MONGERING. The whole point of that response is to incite anger and fear. Ive said it a million fucking times that the media and social media is a fucking cancer to society. Any good that can come from social media is long over shadowed by shit like this.

was the mayor wrong? Sure I didnt think there was a need to give the full name. But she probably also figured these people are also trying to make a change and for it to sound genuine to say who wrote the letters to humanize it more.

So the response to that tweet about it being a hit and terrorism sparked fear and made people cause more fear by breaking into a gated community and march in a group to the mayor.

i'm not saying i think they should be waving loaded guns around, especially if you have no trigger discipline like that doughy female punisher, lol- but after what "protesting" has lead to in the very recent past, especially in st. louis, i don't blame them for being scared and making a presence known, instead of just hoping someone wouldn't throw a brick or molotov. there were definitely better, more responsible and rational options, though.

I came back to GameFAQs after leaving facebook because I wanted to still have a little internet interaction when bored.

Unfortunately, topics like this remind me of why I left Facebook as well. Most people arent intelligent, yet in their own minds, they are. Most people have asinine reactions to events and post their opinions thinking its smart when its the opposite.

And me, I just cant let idiocy go unchecked. I cant keep scrolling. I have to explain to people how stupid they are, hoping that maybe, just maybe I can get someone out there to self-reflect and realize that theyre stupid.

Maybe itd he healthier for me to simply avoid internet social spots and stick to the generally intelligent people I choose to spend my real life with.

but still, that area is entirely closed off with signs everywhere. Whether their intentions were noble or not they still shouldnt have broken a gate to march through a private community given what has happened the last month.

again - these people with the guns were totally off the wall, but I honestly am not shocked that people would look to protect their family and homes if a large gathering of people were marching through.

you've seen what happens at the protests, it escalates into vandalism and destruction.

I feel like the first and second things you said are contradictory. If people reflexively respect gates, then politicians CAN hide behind them.

It doesn't inherently escalate into anything. Going out there with guns increased the chances of things popping off, it didn't lower them.

I read post 100 and I agree with it. A lot of people here and in general are just hypocrites. If these people were given some status in life and made more money to own better stuff and someone showed up looking like they may destroy it of course you'd have the mentality to protect it. It's like a rich person owning a fancy car and some low life person spits on it but doesn't realize someone worked hard to achieve it. Envy and fucking jealousy. They get upset with Jeff, but had a person here thought of Amazon first they'd all change their opinion on wealth.

See that's dicey. The protesters are in a gated community, which is private property. The question is: was the sidewalk property that the couple had a right to defend? Was it theirs by ownership? Specifically brandishing a weapon?

Yeah that's more info we'll need then. If each home owner is responsible for their portion of the sidewalk, then they have the right to defend it, but if the community management team "owns" the sidewalk, then no I don't think they can. All it takes is one protester setting foot on a single blade of grass that is theirs though and they're fair next, but yeah they were already trespassing.

So if the sidewalk was owned by the whole community, then calling the cops is the right move and pulling guns was not. But if the sidewalk was their sidewalk to manage (which would be weird, usually the city owns the sidewalks), then they can't pull guns. BUT, if someone did set foot on their GRASS, then they can exercise their freedoms to pull guns.

Lot of ambiguity.

So technically, until the gated communities officials ask the protesters to leave and remain on the property until needing to be removed, it isn't actually trespassing. So provided they are sticking to the communities streets/sidewalks and no one has been called to have them removed, the protesters haven't trespassed.

The grass goes past their steps so it would be a very interesting street if it did that. Seems like a driveway.

and from the video it seems like the majority of the people protesting in front of the house are white ..... and it seems the main guy yelling at the couple is white. So Im not sure if people arent looking at the video or what when theyre calling the couple racists.

As a local I can tell you that local news reports that they did not. They opened an unlocked pedestrian gate and walked in.
