Everyone feared the economy getting ruined in America, but now the pandemic is getting worse than ever. Are the countries that locked down like Italy suffering severely in terms of economy?

No, they're doing better than America. Japan's unemployment rate is only 2.6% compared to America's over 10%.

Here in usa there are mostly service jobs that require people to go out in massive numbers so yes we have a big problem unlike other countries.

our other big problem is essential workers being forced to work which risks them being exposed to the virus and spreading it to their families

this virus will take a LONG time to get contained here in the USA because of how Americas system is designed
