Just got to the labs. I see why people don't like this as much as REmake. Item management is a pain, which is made only more annoying by the fact that huge rooms have arbitrary item limits. Frankly, a lot of the puzzles aren't very interesting, and I feel like the levels are just less enjoyable or interesting to explore. All the puzzles that actually make you utilize the character switching mechanic feel contrived and aren't really fun, imo.

Another weird thing: Easy in this game is ridiculously easy. I have over 400 handgun bullets, like 60 shotgun shells, and zombies go down in 3 or 4 shots most of the time. Looking it up online, even on Normal ammo preservation can be somewhat challenging, so it's weird to be absolutely drowning in resources. I guess the game expects me to be dropping my ammo all the time? Idk.

Also the cheese factor is through the roof in this game. I realize the series went more and more over the top until 6, but honestly playing this game makes me wonder if they were running out of ideas by this game. Leeches? And this Umbrella backstory isn't that interesting imo. I guess the leech guy is Dr. Marcus' son, and Wesker's buddy is going to be an antagonist down the line. This whole Billy Coen story is also lame tbh. I really get the "what's the point of this even being a prequel" vibe from this game.

That being said, it's still a decent game. But I see why it's unpopular among the fanbase, and I probably won't be coming back to it where

Yeah, but in the right context an edgelord can be very amusing. I've heard RE has some silly games, so maybe one of those.

oh sorry, Speedrun. I love that game. It can be a little annoying but once you realize how to play like a pro, youre flying, no inventory problems. Tricks like having Rebecca wait downstairs in the west wing and coming out the double doors as billy, then you zap and group up and it warps you together

I don't really have too many inventory issues, but that's partly because I'm Easy. There's so much shit everywhere you almost never need to come to new areas well prepared. It's more about lugging key items around.

REmake is a lot more difficult on Easy mode, so I was expecting something akin to that. Plus, many online claim this game is harder than REmake (which I now know is certainly not the case at all).

The difference between resources between Normal and Easy is absolutely monstrous, and far more extreme than they are in REmake.

A good example is the Hunters. Hunters still took 2-3 multiple shotgun blasts to kill in REmake. RE0 reduces that to a single shotgun shell or three handgun bullets, while providing far, far more of both on Easy mode.

If you are able, absolutely play classic 2 as well.
Both are must plays.

I'll think about it. If I do I'll probably be playing the N64 version since I got a flash cart for that a while back. I enjoyed REmake a lot so if it's more of that, I'll get to it some time. But it's more likely I'll be playing RE3make after 2. What comes after that? Not really sure. I could move onto 4 on my Wii, or I could pick up the Switch versions of 4/5/6. Or maybe I'll just play RE7. Maybe I'll pop in Umbrella Chronicles, who knows? Lots of options in a series with so many fucking games lol.

But tbh the whole reason I got the origins collection was to play REmake because I bought RE2make on a whim. I went through 0 since I already had it anyway lol.

Eh, it wasn't such a bad game. I kinda wish I hadn't played it on Easy, but it sounds like Normal is more intense than I wanted. For instance, on Easy you can get 200 handgun ammo on the train, compared to 40 on Normal. That is a ridiculous difference, particularly when zombies only take 2 or 3 shots to kill on Easy.
