Also, our (Holland) lock-down has been acceptable. We have a functional social safety net, we were able to work from home, we could still go to the stores, restaurants recently reopened. We dealt with it and are now slowely opening back up again. In the USA, when you lose your job, you often lose your healthcare, you can miss your payments and lose your home, or get kicked out of your rented place. You'll be on your own. Having already done so and with the inability to say hes done anything wrong he now cant walk that back and still have a chance at re-election.
