But it is extremely good, not surprising in retrospect seeing Book of Mormon

I've never thought about it, but it's actually super wild that they decided to make their movie a musical.

I watched the movie earlier this year and found myself surprised by how BAD some of the songs are. Blame Canada is nothing special, Uncle Fucker is 30 seconds of meh melody and 30 seconds of somebody making fart sounds with their hands.

I kind of like the melody of the brian boitano song, but it's also premised entirely on the randomness of a celebrity from 30 years ago who I don't know anything about and expecting me to think that's funny. South Park used to do that a lot and it was never funny IMO.

Kyle's mom is a bitch is nothing special

The whole point of the songs is basically to be showy for fun while also being outrageous, except the show isn't outrageous by today's standards so it doesn't really hold up for this year.

Generally, Disney songs (in their mainline big budget animated movies) are much more emotional and cathartic and have a lot more production value so yeah it's not surprising that they have better lyrics and melodies. But they're also going for something totally different.

Book of Mormon has some great songs, but no, the south park movie's soundtrack is just "mmmkay" for its purpose and not much more
