The pre-stream was.. something. He was practically masturbating (figuratively speaking) for 5 minutes going on and on how he is one of the most, if not the most prolific content creator. And like @LightningAce11 pointed out, he said how he was winning and how succesful he is this year, after literally being bankrupt.

The vest reveal came as no surprise, Phil is so devoid of creativity and tone deaf that he truly believes that his fans want him to have more vests. Even though the brown vest, which started this madness, is just a meme. Phil is going to drive this thing into the ground unless he dies first.

More and more cracks are showing up, hiting at a possible (and I do mean possibly) absence of Kat. Lots of comments from Phil hinting low key that she might be gone. How he has do to groceries on his own and things like that. Still, I wouldn't recommend looking deeper into this at this point, but there are subtle hints.

Speaking of "succes", Phil stated that for the first time this year he has been able to pay his bills while denying twice the money is going to mobile games. It would be beyond easy to show a screenshot to disprove everything. The excuse that it would endanger his "family" is beyond idiotic.

He also claimed that the federal governemnt hasn't contacted him about paying his bills from last year, due to the government shutting down due to COVID and is now waiting for them to contact him. While I am not really all that versed in taxes and shit in the US, but I HIGHLY doubt that if you still owe money from last year, even amid all this COVID bullshit the government/IRS is going to: "eh, it's fine".

We know, by Phil's own admission, that he put most if not all of his taxes on credit cards, and those debts got dismissed. So IF Phil is begging for tax money he is either full of shit, or in way too deep. But as usual, Phil is the most unrealiable story teller, so we'll probably never know which it is. But if it is the former, he'll just stick to his disgusting greed scamming shtick, because he knows it works.

He then started talking about future plans to improve his stream, and the first thing he mentioned was a new couch. He is such a scummy asshole. And it got worse, he kind of used the new couch as leverage for a greenscreen. The current greenscreen is unfortunatly too big to use. He then moved on to unboxing of games/consoles as part of why he is so succesful. He made a smooth transition to not being to afford the PS5/XSX for launch and dropped a few not very subtle hints asking people to pre-order it for him.

His plan for improving his stream consists of:

1. A new couch/seat, people need to give him money for that.
2. The Greenscreen.
3. People shouldn't just buy the new consoles for him, they should pre-order them.
4. A new webcam.

It then turns out he had a streamdeck in his possesion for a while. He hasn't revealed who donated it, because he didn't want to stir up drama. He can't use it, because it only works with Windows 10, and he still runs 7. Refuses to upgrade because it could "unlock pandora's box". I mean what the actual fuck. Oh, but since Phil can't use it, you would have though he might have send it back, as a good faith gesture. But it is his now so...

Eventually he will have to upgrade his PC (laying the foundation for people to give him money for that). Also suggesting people should mail him for donations so they can talk about it "behind the scenes".

Funnily enough, Phil has always shat on things like the greenscreen that could help him improve the quality of his stream and now he is all over it.

This is just prime scummy Phil, because he is just trying different avenues to squeeze more money out of his fans.

And then we got treated to him forcing a burger into his face while wearing a new vest, to which his chat had an underwhelming response. And the other reveal is a tier 2 reward, upsetting many fans. His greed knows no bounds.

And in the very same stream he retconned people being dissapointed by the vest reveal, only fake fans were dissapointed. See, his "real" fans wanted the 200 streak celebration to be like the 100 streak celebration and includes tiered rewards.This caused fake fans to be mad, and made the real fans sad because they want to have a good time. Phil tollerates the fake fans because he doesn't want to disrupt the stream with banning and look bad because of it. They always complain though, they think Phil isn't aware of them (the fake fans), but he is. He knows them all and their sock accounts. He ends it by saying they are shitheads.

Two whales ended up donating 200 dollars in total. He revealed a red vest. Just like predicted. What a fucking asshole. He said he wanted a Marty McFly vest (so semantics it is then, just like Jasper, no one guess he was there for 9 months), which was more orange, but he ended up with the vest that was revealed, which was more red. But he never actually adressed why he lied about the red vest. He then proceeded to hype up the 250 vest goal with ANOTHER FUCKING VEST REVEAL.

It's Jasper all fucking over again, because it's not a "red vest" it's a "Marty McFly vest".

I keep wondering how many times he has to lie to his fans before they wake up, but it's never going to happen. The whole 200 vest streak was a complete dud and the tier 2 reveal was exactly what was predicted yet he lied about it.

Basically just Phil.

He hit the double tip goal on the night stream (thanks to whales) and revealed the red vest. He was disappointed that the "vestival" didn't go over well with a lot of his fans. Someone on KF pointed out that since the vest streak is sustained almost exclusively by a few whales, then obviously the average fan doesn't give a shit about it. I think I've said this before, but he might as well do private streams where he can model his vests for the few whales who seem to get off on seeing him in them.

The vest streak reminds me so much of when WWE fans started singing along with Fandango's music. Both things happened in a weird, organic way because fans were bored with a dull, repetitive product. WWE had no idea what was going on, but they tried to cash in on it and ended up beating it into the ground. And Phil seems intent on doing the same thing. He doesn't understand it (though I'm not sure it can be understood), so he'll just keep buying more vests and be left wondering why his viewers aren't happy.

The only viewers he doesn't have a problem with are the ones who donate big and have nothing but praise for him. Bonus points to anyone willing to donate behind the scenes. So basically he has less than ten total viewers who he would consider real fans who support him for the right reason--and he would throw any one of them under the bus in an instant if they criticized him in any way.

He wants to hype the streak while at the same time pretending he doesn't make much money from it. Funny how detractors realized the problem early on, that if he keeps the streak number on screen at all times, then a bit of simple math will show anyone how much he's making in tips. Also, he's still getting bits, still getting YouTube money, and has a ton of Twitch subscribers (most of which were obviously gifted). He's bringing in more money than usual (and should have fewer expense due to the bankruptcy) but wants everybody to continue to believe he's broke.

It cannot be overstated: he is a manipulative and unrepentent scammer.

Edit: Honestly, if there is a kid (I don't think there is) or if he ever has one, I hope he keeps it to himself. I can only imagine people calling the kid ugly or saying it doesn't look anything like Phil (ie: it's Tevin's fault) or calling Child Protective Services.

Not to be an ass, but if Phil had a kid, I do hope it gets taken away. No one would deserve a narcissist as a father, speaking from experience.

It's embarrassing how fake he reacts to possibly not hitting the tips goal. When it's coming down to the wire he acts like no one has ever donated a large sum at the last minute before. He's condescending and talks down to his audience like they are morons. Also, a non-greedy person would take the $400 he made today and not put the vest streak on the line again for tonight. I also saw someone suggest a $300 goal where he puts on the sonic hat and I guarantee that starts happening regularly

Phil said that if you want to send him something, you have to clear it with him via mail first. If a package shows up unanounced, he'll throw it out.

Imagine one of his paypigs actually sending him a next-gen console as a surprise, but Phil immediatly throws it in the trash.

I honestly (and I don't mean this as an insult) believe Phil has very low to no sex drive.

I mean, on one of the last streams with Leanna before they broke up, she pratically threw herself at him, and he all but ignored her. And I recall her saying a few times on stream that she didn't get her needs met.

Couple this with the total and complete lack of chemistry and totall awkwardness the one or two times Kat appeared on screen/stream and given the fact that Phil sees her more than a maid, and I am a firm believer that they haven't consumated their marriage yet.

Yeah, I'm also of the opinion that he has a super low sex drive or is possibly even asexual. I know he's claimed that part of the reason he made crude sex jokes when he was younger was because that's what he thought the audience wanted, which seems like a typical DSP retcon but might actually have some truth to it. I think it might have been a case of him mimicking the behavior of other people in order to come across as someone versed in sexual matters.

If it is a joke, it's actually kind of funny, and it's the kind of self-deprecating humor that would go a long way towards making him almost likable. But it's hard to tell, and it's just as likely that he thinks this makes him look good. At any rate, that picture seems like a better reward for his viewers than the last "vestival."

Sure his loyal fans will stick with him no matter what he does (has been proven time and again), but A LOT of people are there for the slow burn, the trainwreck. When Phil stops being "Phil" as we know him, taking himself way too serious, the waterfall of excuses when he fucks up, the anger, etc I personally would lose interest.

I am here indeed, because he is such a trainwreck, and a lot of others are too. I believe it is safe to assume that changing into a likeable person would actually hurt him more than it would help. You can't get a rise out of someone who laughs at themselves.

It's too late.

Despite what he thinks, most of his appeal is the drama surrounding him. If he did change, if he actually became a decent guy who tried to atone for some of his past actions, he would see an initial boost in viewers and donations. But he'd soon lose the ironic viewers and the trolls because there would be nothing for them. Without the detractor element, what's Phil going to talk about? And if his new personality means that he's not complaining about the games as much or shitting on developers or badmouthing other content creators, then his streams would be 99% dead air. Maybe a few of his whales would stick around, but most of his supporters would eventually leave--if he can't rally them against the evil detractors or manipulate them into paying his bills, then he has no control over them.

No, change would need to have started long ago. That vest picture was so out of character that I didn't initially realize it was a joke. But if he had done stuff like that years ago (imagine him sending out a picture of himself in clown makeup, saying he was getting ready for the next stream), he could've built a brand around something other than drama and maybe not turned into the sort of guy people love to hate.

Phil would need to change a lot more than just ridiculing his shortcomings, because at his core, Phil is boring as hell as a streamer. He'd need to engage with his audience more, actually enjoy their company outside of them giving him money, and put in effort. As we've seen, though, he is incredibly lazy and does nothing to really help his stream grow at all.

When it comes right down to it, he doesn't have the skills, personality, or passion required to be a streamer. He should have failed a long time ago, but he sacrificed his dignity to keep going, choosing to beg strangers for money almost every day of his life rather than accept the reality of his situation. When he brags about his success, it means nothing. If he stopped begging for a week, he'd go broke, because very few people enjoy his content enough to support him without being begged or manipulated or guilted into sending him money. Those people Phil outlasted during his legacy? I bet some of them could still be around if they were willing to sink to his level, but they weren't. They'd rather work a 9-5 job with their self-respect intact rather than live like Phil.

Drama surrounding Phil is a huge reason, probably the biggest reason when it comes to Phil and viewership. A close second would be how godawul he is at games while insisting he isn't the one fucking up, rather it is the game's fault. Games don't respond to button presses, unfair enemies and even the fucking graphics are a complaint (in DMCV he said the game looked too good, that caused him to mess up).

No one, except his die hard fans (which apparantly have all kinds of mental issues) watch Phil because he is such a great streamer. He shits on the people giving him money, and those very same people need to continuesly explain Phil how to play games, where he needs to go or what he needs to do. Personally I find it hilarious how bad he is at games, and acts like the game is a sentient being that somehow can decide to fuck Phil over.

But I agree with your sentiment, there are a lot of good streamers that don't get noticed that deserve to, but at least they do it from a place of passion, rather than greed as Phil does.
