He started to hide evidence to make sure the guys got away so he could get them himself. --- There is no "would of", "should of" or "could of". This issue is like when he was trying to kill Jordan Chase for example. Jordan was also someone MMPD was going after and that was why he got caught by Deb. Yep exactly. He wants the person all to himself. I thought wouldn't have been easier to give his coworkers these people by either planting evidence or just not hiding evidence which he often does.
