Im crashing at my sisters place today, so I have an air mattress.

I also routinely let the dog stay with me all day when Im here, so hes accustomed to at least sleeping in the same room as me. Since Im sleeping close to the ground, and not on a raised bed, the dog thinks he can sleep next to me. I keep telling him no, and carrying him to his little bed and blanket setup I made for him.

I doze for 10 minutes and I hear him slowly sneaking up to cuddle next to me. I catch him in the act, he freezes, and gets carried back to the bed.

Hes done this three times now. Its great. Hes great.

Id let him sleep next to me, but I kick and rollover in my sleep. I wouldnt want to crush that tiny 5 pound pup >_>

Our cats do this too though.

I gave up a long time ago stopping them.

I was terrified when Lady Midnight did that, she was so tiny and I was sleeping on a couch at the time. Like... Girl there's hardly room for me.

Woke up in the exact same position I went to sleep in.

Put the dog bed next the air mattress.

I know I sleep different when I'm not alone. Like normally, I move around a lot. But when I cuddled with my dog, neither of us moved. And when I was sleeping on my back with the kitten on my chest, I woke up still on my back with the kitten on my chest.

Thats just how dogs are

they like to all sleep together in a dog pile so that they keep each other warm, bond, and carry a similar scent

if a dog wants to cuddle with you while you sleep that means the dog likes you enough to consider you part of the pack

Apparently I'm a lot more still with cats right up next to me. I've actually woken up right before moving and realized a cat was right up against me.

My spouse though? Apparently flop my leg right over them.
