Perfect conjuration once per day while not dismissing the ability to make other sandwiches from scratch?

Cubano.

PB&J are easy access and fun to mess around; grilled cheese I want to have with tomato soup so I'm already at the stove; ham and cheese and turkey club can be messed around with and made easily; there are enough places around with good italians and cheesesteaks, even two places in walking distance with amazing thanksgivings. There are a number of sandwiches there I don't know and may regret choosing like the Monte Cristo or Torta.

So... Cubano is the best choice for a sandwich. I only know one place within fifteen miles that serves it, have loved it every time Ive had it, has enough variety in flavor to not get sick of, was surpringly good paired with clam chowder one time, and it's complex enough in execution to warrant magical means.

Though...

If I can conjure up a perfect lobster roll once per day, I can also use that lobster in other dishes without needing to boil and break a lobster. And I still have a delicious buttery toasted hot dog bun...

Decisions, decisions...

Let's say Cubano. I've been craving one for weeeeeks.

Yeah this is a big thing for me too

Because, for example, a perfect cheesesteak just economically seems like it'd be harder to get. Like the absolute most perfect steak in the world to go in that sandwich is going to be...costly. Not to mention the perfect cheese.

Not saying that isn't true for the rest of them either, but good steak isn't cheap.

Absolutely true. It would be very difficult to achieve perfection. And as I have not had a genuine philly cheesesteak and only regional approximations, I could not ascertain the extent between perfection or close to it and the sandwiches I've had (most being delicious, the rest being soggy messes).

But now I want a Cubano even more... the perfect ham, the perfect pork, the zestiest and most complimentary pickles, perfectly aged swiss, the finest sharpest strongest mustard without overpowering the rest, all between to perfectly toasted pieces of bread at the right temperature?

*mouth waters*

I really need a lunch place with cubans ;_;

Pulled pork probably. If McGriddle was included in the sandwich selection Id take that though.
bacon egg and cheese is literally the first sandwich on that list

unless you want a perfect mcgriddle specifically and not a perfect bacon egg and cheese, in which case you're both a psychopath and implying that mcgriddles are worse

A McGriddle is a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, which is available. He doesn't want a perfect BE&C sandwich, he wants a perfect McGriddle. If the perfect BE&C sandwich was a perfect McGriddle, he'd be fine with that. But he specifically wants a perfect McGriddle, which isn't the perfect BE&C sandwich, so McGriddles are worse. QED.

Probably patty melt roast beef or Reuben

Tbh theres really no downside here since the concept doesnt say you have to eat this sandwich every day, or cant eat other kinds of sandwiches or other food, just that you can magically get one daily when you feel like one.

Its a net positive as long as you like the kind you choose

For sandwiches that have variations do you get to change it up? Like could I get a shrimp poboy one day, a crawfish poboy the next day and a french fry one the day after?

Or a chicken cheesesteak once in a while instead of a philly cheesesteak.

honestly i'm thinking cheesesteak regardless, but poboy, french dip and lobster roll are all tempting.

A Big Mac is a specific kind of cheeseburger. Not all cheeseburgers are Big Macs. If you go to McDonald's and order a cheeseburger, they aren't giving you a Big Mac.

just like a McGriddle is a specific kind of bacon egg and cheese (and not all McGriddles are bacon egg and cheese anyway)

I guess you could make Big Macs if you chose cheeseburger as your sandwich, but I would guess this person is specifying they just wanted to be able to choose the McGriddle bread more than anything else

That's the whole thing. A Big Mac is a cheeseburger. Your perfect cheeseburger can be a Big Mac, but won't be if more perfect cheeseburgers than Big Macs are possible. A perfect Big Mac has to be a Big Mac. I never implied that a cheeseburger and a Big Mac, or a BE&C and a McGriddle, are equivalent, or that the OP did either. The set of all possible instances of the latter is a subset of the former, which was my whole original logic. And I'd think somebody would be just as insane for saying that they wanted a daily perfect Big Mac specifically instead of a daily perfect cheeseburger

If he meant a sausage McGriddle, the same logic applies; he'd have specified wanting a sausage egg and cheese sandwich if it were available

Exactly my thought - a good cubano is so hard to find, and being able to SUMMON one? Oh yes.

Bagel with Lox most likely. It's something I can eat every day in the morning and not be tired of it. The Reuben (which is my favorite sandwhich) is a close second, but I don't think i'd get as much value from it. Lobster Roll is also pretty close.

None of you will pick it, and I doubt any of you have ever tried it because I didn't have one until a few months ago, but I had a Hot Brown for the first time in my life recently and it was incredible. It was SO good! I heavily recommend everybody try it for breakfast/brunch at some point, just an incredible meal.

I definitely would not pick it for this topic because I don't think I would want to eat something so incredible every single day. Plus it's a messy meal that I can't just put into my hand and eat. But damn... does it hit the spot.

I am actually making one in a few hours for brunch, will post pics if anybody is interested.
