If it's so hard to shoot people in the leg then we just need to make it easier. Shotguns would work.

You still go after center mass,

And if you try to use a shotgun to shoot a persons leg, you'll either miss, and the ricochet will hit ALOT of bystandards nearby causing collatoral damage.

If you do hit, you'll literally make them bleed out and kill them.

It's just easier and more guaranteed to go after center mass.

It's about technique, not speed. A robot with infinite speed but lacking proper technique will accomplish nothing. Our police will be trained how to curve the bullets the right way, not by trying to cheat.

This is really really really fucking stupid and anyone who has had even basic gun training knows this.

1. You can still die from a leg shot.
2. You can also be grazed from a leg shot and not be incapicated. Making you still dangerous if you're violent.
3. Shooting people in the leg is hard. Espescially if they are moving. It drastically increases your chances of missing and hitting innocent people.
If you are ever going to fire your gun, aim for the chest. Always aim for the chest. It's the safest thing to do and what anyone who uses firearms is taught.

This whole "Just shoot a limb" idealogy is based on Hollywood movies, not reality.

This. Hell in my qualification even headshots where less points than chest shots and for what I do lethal force is definitely authorized in the situation we need to use a gun. (Felons attempting an escape) we are taught too though to just let them flee if we even think there may be innocents anywhere near our line of fire.

But yeah in riots I figured OC spray, various gas munitions tazers and bean bag shotguns should be whats used and only when it gets violent.
