Not all of them are like that. And yes i know cops tend to cover for said cops but I live in a area where you never hear about brutality or cops killing people. So I think the particular departments with a history of just maybe need to be gutted and re staffed with all new people.

Most people I know who are avid cop supporters still hang up the phone when they get a call to donate money. They are some dummies too i told them once i literally didnt have a job (I didnt at the time) and their response was thats ok any amount would be appreciated.

I'm extremely curious as to how people come to the conclusion that any measurable amount of police are bad in the first place. Even taking the average amount of complaints against police without removing those that were proven false and multiplying it by ten, you have like a sub-0.1% rate of issues. We can solve and address issues of corrupt police while still living in reality.

I would assume that people who support the police as a whole do so because they support the good cops and the good things that the police department does. I buy NFL merchandise, that doesn't mean I support or endorse the few players who have done terrible things.

Civilians should police their own communities and neighborhoods.

Of course that would mean mob justice.

But you wouldn't see many bangers, bikers and other various criminals around in most places.

Corrupt police are taken down all the time. Maybe it's possible to implement more systems and power balances, but the number is never going to be zero. Some will even get away with it their entire lives without punishment. That's called accepting we have seven billion people in this world, so there's always going to be some extremely small amount of horrible people who do horrible things. We shouldn't give up on reducing the number as much as possible, but this whole fuck cops mentality is simply driven by the way we consume news.

The issue is that these arent isolated incidents and the system works protect the police that commit hate crimes and other crimes.
Of course people feel like justice has failed. Hence the riots. Mob justice is better than no justice.

Again, it's a matter of statistics. No matter how many things are implemented, this is always going to happen. I have no doubt America has some per capita issues to work out compared to other countries, but there is only so much you can do when talking about human beings.

Honestly, that's the exact opposite of what some people want in regards to this issue.

They'll obfuscate and kite the argument as much as possible until you find yourself losing a heavily skewed debate about how to serve porridge, and forget what you were actually arguing about in the first place.
