Every prisoner on Earth whether they are in for murder or unpaid parking tickets, in every single country, even in Wales just died overnight.

Some Death Note style shit, the autopsies of everyone show natural causes but they all died on the same night to a man.

Approx 12 million people, about 3 times the entire population of Croatia gone overnight.

I think at the least there would be mass investigations, mass religion converts, conspiriacy theorists going wild, countries suspecting each other of biological warfare. Probably end up having riots and nations losing their shit.

All the families of prisoners would be going nuts, people who are about to be convicted and sent to prison would be terrified and you can't blame them but what can society do with them?

I can't imagine how Donald Trump would react.

They're still human beings dude.

Human beings who have done awful things don't deserve to die. They still have families and wants and dreams and pains and thoughts and desires and pains and growth. That shouldn't be extinguished.

Wanting other people to die is fucked up and unhealthy dude.

I get what you're saying but tbh even if all the murderers, rapists, etc were the only people who died in this little scenario then it would still be upsetting. Like a specific group of people just dying out of the blue like that? That would have me fucking scared shitless even if I'm not any of those things, like remember that we as humans don't know why this happened. Like what's stopping this from happening again to a more wider range of groups next time? At least that would be my first thought process if I woke up reading the news that every person in the world in prison died overnight.

The public would be so freaked out and every company/police/courts etc involved in inprisoning people will be both paranoid and under watch

If they started throwing dudes in prison on mass for dubious reasons after everyone in prison just died, it could trigger riots or even a civil war

and I am not sure you understand how much the public wants to stay alive. if it became a fact that everyone that goes to prison dies, people would rise up and riot if people were getting death sentences for the most mild crimes

Hell I don't even see how the court/police system could suddenly start processing more people AND being harsher to them on such a level even if they wanted too.

i hear this all the time and never see it. They'll just start enforcing laws a lot more strictly. No more warnings or 2nd chances. It'll especially be harmful in lower income communities where people might not be able to fight back, and if you think the entire nation would suddenly come together to stage a mutiny to defend lower class areas you're kidding yourself. They already don't want to do that now. They'll just scream "don't wanna go to jail? don't break the law! cops are just doing their jobs!" louder.
