Hmm, I wonder why no smart TV has tried to replicate the Wii Remote pointer functionality. It would be pretty easy to put the sensor bar (IR LEDs) into the bezel and have a slightly more advanced remote.

I suppose it would require too much effort to make special software just to be compatible with it.

That's a good thing. Trying to navigate menus with the wii remote was a huge pain

I see you haven't had an LG OLED TV. Their remotes control a pointer on the screen. No bar needed either.

The Wii sucked. I played twilight princess and the conduit and realized I'd played everything worth touching and sold it for 70 bucks.

I have an LG HDTV from 2013 that has a wand that's essentially a Wii controller as the remote

i own so many games for the wii.... wii u sucked (bought 2 games. big disappointment). did have better games in the cycle but it was too late.
