I believe it's possible. I don't know if confirmed or not.

South Korea has reported, last I saw, 182 cases of reinfection. It's technically possible the tests are too sensitive to the dead CoV-2 infected cells and virus, but it's getting less and less likely as the numbers keep increasing.

With that said, reinfection seems fairly unlikely at this point, but we don't know if the virus might have a latency period or it might just not provoke a very proactive response from our immune system's memory response.

The closest virus structueally to SARS-CoV-2 was the original SARS outbreak, and the immune memory response to that seems to last several years. If SARS-CoV2 takes after the original in that way, it should have verynlow reinfection risk.

I thought that was original SARS, from '02.
Who comes up with naming conventions anyway?

That's been the acronym for the virus since the beginning. The disease it causes is CoVID19.

Like, this is basic "First sentence of its wikipedia page" type stuff here. Maybe just put the smallest amount of effort into learning about the world around you?

In your lifetime: most likely yes.

Reinfection right after getting over it: maybe by a different strain but I would guess that these cases of reinfection are maybe that the original virus wasn't in any hurry to leave the body.

It would be unusual for a virus of this type to allow for reinfection.

To be fair, any time I've had the tv or radio news on, they just call it the coronavirus and covid-19. I only see its proper name on news articles. Hell, I've seen it called wuflu and kung-flu more often as well.

sorry if this is a dumb question but could it be possible that they never recovered in the first place? i heard that those kinds of tests are somewhat faulty in terms of testing if people recovered or not

and there are some cases where people can still have the virus for 60 days :/

They have to pass 2 tests on separate days to be considered recovered.

mentioned it before but if they just used the name sars-cov2(virus) instead of covid-19(disease) then maybe more people would listen since sars was propped up to be some type of killer virus/disease and this would be the "2nd version" of it.

Right. It's just a poll on CE, not science. No on implied otherwise.
