These aren't "episodes." Each one is a standalone entry. A more realistic time frame would be the time it took to release the two FF13 sequels which reused the bulk of the art assets & gameplay. These were around 2.5 years apart.

SE has a lot riding on this project; it's a "time vs polish" tightrope and SE can't afford to slip.

If you look at the back of the box you will find the following words.

"The story of this first, standalone game in the FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE project covers up to the party's escape from Midgar and goes deeper into the events occurring in the city than the original FINAL FANTASY VII."

You will not find the word episode as they have used in the past with FFXV or Life is Strange.

Episodes are not something ever used by Square Enix for FF7. Every promo they ever released stressed that this was a full game. Other people said episodes. Not Square.

Originally they said it was a trilogy but then went on to recant that saying "they don't know how many games there will be"

Every release is going to be a full game.

That is my favorite part of the game but I don't know if I would want to play it if I have to pay for 7-10 separate installments for the whole thing >_>
