Looks like an delusional poster, smells like a delusional poster, probably is a delusional poster.

15 years of broken promises from Square regarding the FF7 remake and when it finally happens its a $60 demo and fanboys lap it up pretending Square is going to do them right with the other three $60 demos.

And yall bitch about mobile gaming, whales, micro transactions and DLC. CE is full of entertainment.
Dude youre so full of shit. "$60 demo" get out of here. Fuck off

You can say 15 sucked all you want, but the second you start acting like it was a failure, you out yourself as an ignorant whiner.

I know that, go back and read that post

But there is absolutely zero chance the entire remake is finished in 2.5 more years

The irony in bold.

The delusion to think this is a fucking cash grab

Hey lets spend half a decade putting out a $60 game that averages about 40 hours of gameplay.

Yeah..thats worse than microtransactions

but dont let me stop you from throwing any more tantrums. Were gonna sit back and enjoy the first part while you lose your damn minds.

Per remaining episode? Easily doable.

I know that, go back and read that post

You should read it, again, in-context:
"... remaining episodes could start releasing "as-soon-as" [iow, "in as few as"] one every nine months... depending on promotional lead-in times and release schedule overlaps/conflicts."
.

But there is absolutely zero chance the entire remake is finished in 2.5 more years

It could be finished in less, but marketing will be the tail that wags the FF VII R development dog.

These aren't "episodes." Each one is a standalone entry. A more realistic time frame would be the time it took to release the two FF13 sequels which reused the bulk of the art assets & gameplay. These were around 2.5 years apart.

... an *episode* in the FF VII R project, something SE confirmed long ago. The only thing not yet announced is the episodic naming they'll use for each release.

However, FF VII R's episodic releases also will reuse systems, menus, maps, etc., with the added content being plugged-in to pre-existing world/story frameworks.
https://nerdist.com/article/final-fantasy-vii-remake-interview-yoshinori-kitase-naoki-hamaguchi/

[ While not stated, there might be support for new *and* imported saves (Dragon's Dogma style) between each FF VII R episodic release. ]

Could SE release all remaining episodes over the next few years? Yes, but I'm sure they don't want a repeat of what happened with other circa 2010s FF releases that led to them being received poorly. They might extend the release dates for all episodes... not for framework or content related development, but for testing and fixes to ensure equally consistent and immersive experiences from every episode until final delivery is made. SE has a lot riding on this project; it's a "time vs polish" tightrope and SE can't afford to slip.

Blah blah

No one gives a fuck what unofficial journalists write.

If you look at the back of the box you will find the following words.

"The story of this first, standalone game in the FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE project covers up to the party's escape from Midgar and goes deeper into the events occurring in the city than the original FINAL FANTASY VII."

You will not find the word episode as they have used in the past with FFXV or Life is Strange.

That is SE's marketing group promotional write-up from the design and final release notes they were given.

If you look at that Nerdist interview (link), you will see Kitase, FF VII R's producer, confirm why they decided to release the game in episodic format "portions."

Episodes are not something ever used by Square Enix for FF7. Every promo they ever released stressed that this was a full game. Other people said episodes. Not Square.

Originally they said it was a trilogy but then went on to recant that saying "they don't know how many games there will be"

Every release is going to be a full game.

[FF VII R is/will be a] "series of episodic games"... parts within the larger whole of the original game story, not to be confused with DLCs or expansions.

Probably not epic enough for a "How will you feel if you derail the 'FF7R game flops' topic?" topic, but, even in CE, I think people post hoping to promote sincere discussions.

literally like 10 to 15% because it ends in Midgar

in the original this is basically when you get to the world map for the first time

That is my favorite part of the game but I don't know if I would want to play it if I have to pay for 7-10 separate installments for the whole thing >_>

Square has every ability after a decade to release the entire game they want to make in one package.

Square: Were going to fleece you for $240 for four parts of a game unnecessarily.

FF7 fanboys: Please sir may I have some more.
