Board 8 > Octopath is one of the most Disjointed games i've played.

On the face of it..everything about it is plesant. Nice visuals, awesome simple battle system..throwback to the old days..great music..some aspects of decent storytelling.

But the game is just horribly structured with no real end purpose. I enjoyed my time with Octopath but by the end of it I felt like I was playing a greatest hits of some old game but with no real soul

The stories for some of the characters were in between interesting and fun to downright being a borefest.

I'm really hoping a sequel fixes this and actually has a more cohesive story to go with the great gameplay it offered.

I know you don't like Undertale

But as someone who played both Undertale and Octopath

Undertale captures the free wheeling spirit of 90s JRPGs a million times better than fucking Octopath 'follow the same formula 32 times in a row' Traveler

Which is shame because the battle system is really good and I like a lot of the characters (Cyrus is the homie)
