Even Tucker Carlson is condemning them. Fuck these assholes for profiting off America's crisis

And the worst part? While they were publicly agreeing with Trump that this was all a big Democrat hoax, privately they were selling related stock and in Loefflers case, buying teleworking stock. They knew we'd be facing this and didn't attempt to warn us. Just enriched themselves.

They deserve worse than prosecution, but I would gladly accept that happening to them.

Of course what's more likely to happen is nothing because rules don't apply to them.

True, but with people like Tucker Carlson coming forward and in this period of crisis, I think things might be different. At the very least, attack ads write themselves

This would be exceedingly difficult to prove, and public response is rarely indicative of truth. It seems the problem is letting government officials invest in stocks in the first place, since they represent an enormous conflict of interest thats impossible to parse from their actions. And for all good that revelation does, our best bet at curtailing the practice didnt even break third on a single primary.

In meager defense of Burr (on a legal front, not an ethical one because hes a POS) the WHO had declared a global state of emergency over a month prior and it would be IMPOSSIBLE to prove that he purposely misled the public for personal gain. You could argue that honesty wouldve been better, but given the mass panic, its still an argument and as old as humanity itself. Him giving a more nuanced briefing to a select crowd is hardly indication that he avoided doing what he thought was best for the public.

Yeah, Tucker Carlson is a bit different than some one like Rush or Hannity. He has something of an independent streak and seems to realize he can use his position and influence proactively, for his own political ends.
On rare occasions, he personifies that famous Onion article: Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Just Made a Great Point.

Feinstein and Inhofe's involvement in this aren't as clear, but

No, it's more an observation than anything else. The guy holds conservative values, not republican ones. So of course he'll bitch out anyone who doesn't hold those values.
