Apparently he was a Bernie fanboy earlier in his career. Do you think it was the rigors of the mayoral office that turned him? Or was it as recent as his Iowa victory going to his head?

he was likely always a career climber. You start by building progressive credibility to gain your initial popularity(think obama) then ditch those values when the donors come a courting and learn to sell right-wing policies to left-wing voters. Then either you succeed or become some talking head blowhard. And bam, thats how you make a career in Democratic politics.
