Holy shit, the level of narcissism. That's like rich hot white girl level narcissism.

Michael Che is dope. Watch his Netflix special Matters. One the best semi current stand ups

Your hate boner obscures your ability to stay on topic. That's no good. This topic is about how the dude wants to dish it but then can't take it. As a Comedian, that's pretty much suicide for trying to gain any sort of respect from the community.

So a nobody found someone famous who was dumb enough to reply to them, and he's riding out this self-manufactured "fued" for free exposure because people like TC will post about it.

That has nothing to do with it. Big names don't gotta always take the high road just cause they're big now, especially comedians. Seeing Michael Che's on camera personality, it's pretty clear he would just do it for a giggle. Life isn't that serious dude

If you just read the very surface and don't get to the actual point, then you're right.

But reading even further, Michael Che did critique him more than I initially thought. But who cares? That's literally what we do here 24/7. This is the most hypocritical thing we could critique...cause that's what we're literally doing right now. We're critiquing a situation that doesn't even involve us.

Dude could be a "thirsty twitch comedian" but this all stems from this one tweet:

https://twitter.com/jackallisonLOL/status/1138491154830200832

Which is a pretty fair criticism of the hiring process at SNL that Michael Che took as a personal insult and completely embarrassed himself by going after a "thirsty twitch comedian" a ridiculous amount of times instead of moving on like an adult lmao

Yeah, I'm not saying it's the best look for him. But this guy obviously sparked something and then got all sensitive when it came back at him. Which you acknowledged, and isn't news to you.

I think, I'm seeing it from a place of a Michael Che fan that will give him the benefit of the doubt, though not excuse actions. And others are seeing it from a place that don't care for him and will easily be influenced to see him in a negative way. We're just being influenced in 2 different directions and there is no clear defined right or wrong. It all matters how you perceive it. I'm definitely not turning on Michael Che over this silly shit. It's not the best look but I don't see it as objectively bad either. People want to see SNL fail, so of course this'll get blown out of proportion. In the end, this will be deservingly a non factor in any future stuff.

That definitely shady. But Michael Che doesn't write those rules so that's irrelevant. He was just defending the show from the insult. I imagine he was bored to do all this tho lol

I think it's just standard interview legalese. Without it, someone could dump like every joke imaginable to twitter, fill out an application, and then sue SNL a year later for theft. You see the same thing in regular job interviews and some companies explicitly ban "solve this problem" questions for the exact same reason.

He defended it by personally attacking the dude who was rightfully criticizing it numerous times lol I actually like Michael Che but this makes him come off as a huge asshole. The other guy, who I don't even know, is easily coming off as the good guy here.

I'm sure they do, They're writing an hour worth of jokes every week in perpetuity. I'm willing to bet that's more coincidence than theft, though. A lot of the writers are comedians themselves so they hear a lot of material all the time and they can't always discern what was original vs what they heard and forgot, thus the need for clauses like the one above.

Louis CK directly addressed this specifically with regard to accusations that Dane Cook stole jokes and he more or less said the same thing. Actual theft, like with Carlos Mencia, tends to get rooted out a lot more easily.

Yeah. I know about all this. The term is cryptomnesia. I'm definitely not arguing against it. Especially as someone who constantly jokes and has a shit memory. It was just on first thought, it seemed devious.

Dude, he is a low follower twitter user and he's legitimately getting harassed by a millionaire lmao they made rumors that he was a coke addict for instance and Che consistently brings him up without any reason. It's Michael Che having a year long melty. There's really no defending him.

At this point the guy is just explaining the timeline of events. he's not even whining in the article and he even admits to maybe stoking the flames by replying.

I clock out when you guys use the word "melty". All I see in that is people projecting how serious they take little things that don't really matter to most people. Life isn't that serious. But of course you guys side with the guy who thinks it is when you also invision everything as a meltdown. Michael Che took an insult he didn't ask for and used it to cure boredom. Again, we literally do this here all the time. You guys are getting on Che just cause he's a millionaire doing the same shit you guys constantly do. It's hypocritical as fuck.

Yeah, the SNL writer definitely seems like the bad guy in that scenario. You're the writer of a national TV show. People are going to say your show sucks (and even then, that's not what this guy did). I can maybe imagine responding once, but he apparently routinely stirred up shit to this dude.

The article even mentions this isn't the first time he's done this:
Steven Hyden, a cultural critic for Uproxx, wrote a piece in April titled Why Does Everyone (Still) Hate SNLs Colin Jost? which caught him Ches ire. Che apparently didnt like the column, and he decided to mock me on his Instagram, Hyden told me. He called me a mediocre ass white dude and then said I like to suck off rescue dogs. ... Also, someone can't say it was Che, though it happened immediately after he went into his tirade against me went into my Wikipedia page and changed it to reflect my supposed preference for having sex with canines.

It's really not the same thing. He's going out of his way to attack the guy in an unwarranted fashion. He doesnt even have an official Twitter account, so that means he either has a burner account or he has someone sending him screenshots of this guy's tweets lol it's the equivalent of that one user here that goes on Reddit to talk shit about CE users. Michael Che is taking it way too seriously and this dude just took the time to write an article about how seriously he is taking it.

I dunno. This just comes off soft to me for letting it get your panties in a bunch. I've always come from circles where part of the love is being honest and busting jokes on each other. I just can't imagine a life of getting so flustered by minor insults online. It would be different if he was a millionaire calling him a poor piece of shit or something. But he insulted/critiqued his abilities as a comedian. If you can't take that lil bit of push back, get the fuck out the game man. You can't be a thin skinned comedian, it just doesn't work. Comedians come from places where the stuff Michael Che is saying, is stuff you'd say to friends. It just comes off different when you're not talking to a friend. Dude is soft and will never make it as a Comedian. Mark my words. Nobody in comedy wants to work with or be around that type of guy

He did? What he say? Cause yeah, that's definitely douchey. Accomplishments are one thing, but rubbing your income in someone's face is pretty as fuck. Then again, Michael Che is self proclaimed petty. So it kind of goes a long with his character. But I do admit this seems more out that character than Im use to seeing.

At this point I'm more so defending comedians in general from everything they're saying being put under a microscope. It goes against the whole point of the profession

He makes fun of how little the guy is making off his podcast saying "these guys are doing great" or something along those lines.

But I mean, he also was spreading a rumor that the dude was a Trump supporting coke head that loves going to strip clubs. Which I dunno, that's not really funny and it's just malicious. At best Michael Che looks fucking pathetic as shit here.

Also the article goes in on "cancel culture" and comedians at the end. I recommend reading it dude. It's not poorly written.

See, the rumor thing I'd have to see how it's phrased. Cause Comedians aren't made to be taken at face value for a lot of stuff. But I mean, if it has no comedic value to it's structure, it's a different story. As I said before, this definitely isn't the best look for Che regardless. I'm just trying not to support the rage train the internet loves to hop on. Find the actual middle ground between being a saint and being the biggest piece of shit ever. Cause that's where comedians are suppose to land, somewhere in the middle. It doesn't work otherwise. And maybe he did slip up and get to emotionally invested. I'd like the hear Michael Che's summary. If there's anything I learned from the last few years, its that no matter how you feel about someone on either side, you literally never get the full story from one side. And when the guy's set up is him going on Twitter to ramble how how stuff sucks, he's already starting his side with negative points. Also the huge ego'd self absorbed headline is another redflag. That sentence is straight out the drama queen handbook

What I said was basically a direct quote off of his IG story. It wasn't a part of a joke and it was the Che posting a screenshot of a DM from another dude saying this guy is a "Trump Supporting, coke loving, strip club lover with the politics of Barry Goldwater" or in so many words. There was no set up, no punchline, just blatant libel.. also the dude goes off at the end about how comedians like Che paint this as cancel culture when it's really just them creating a safe space for comedians to avoid any type of actual criticism.

You're giving Michael Che way too much leeway here dude lol

I've literally been coming over to the side against him more and more as the evidence piled up, so I don't know where you're getting that vibe from. Unless you mean, caring about his side is leeway >_>, which I doubt you do. Also, that safe space thing is always stupid. You can insert that pretty much anywhere people call you put. It's a buzzword at this point. Comedians are one of the most active forces against safespaces. Responding to someone doesn't inheritely mean you want to take away their right to say the things, it just means you want to enforce your right to rebuttal those things. Also when was "cancel culture" relevant? I didn't see that.

Retweeting that tweet was trash btw.
