so far we have seen 0 common areas. Even if they do use the police station, that is likely to be less than 10% of that game

It's the same engine as re7/re2. So there you have it.

Same assets can still be copy pasted and covered in different wrapping paper.

Same reason we're getting another Zelda sequel so soon. And how they put out 3 games for ff 13 in like 5 years.

Weve seen about 3 seconds of zombies and to me their models look different than REmake 2. Even the cop zombies. Im sure their AI is the same, but it also looked like they were reacting differently to being shot this time around.

All of the reused stuff seems to be in project resistance. A lot of the actual RE3 stuff looks to be built from the ground up from the same time as REmake 2s development.

and we should be seeing the police station in some capacity, if they don't cut it

Isn't that how it was the first time? The original RE3 used a lot from the original RE2.

Im sure it will be in there in some capacity. Its a perfect chance for them to "copy paste" some stuff, even if it is limited to a few areas. They could even weave it into the backstory of REmake 2 and explain why some areas are locked down. Maybe Jill could be the one to put the chains on the doors, or close the shutters or something. It would be a cool touch.

They did the same on the PS1, and they rereleased 2 during that time.

RE Engine + reused Raccoon City environments probably sheds half the time to develop so they can focus on cutscenes and new animations. The Nemesis system is probably the same too which is fine because RE2's was exceptional.

BotW was likely finished in 2016 for the Wii U and delayed to be a system seller for the Switch. So thats potentially 4-5 years between BotW and its sequel.

Nintendo did a similar thing with TP when they delayed the GameCube version a few weeks after the Wii version came out.
