To be fair, this is like, the first year they've actually kept their promise to patch stuff, so most of the game breaking bugs have been fixed already and you're just left with the more hilarious little glitches. And once you get past the game breaking bugs, the game's actually better than previous years.

So it's not a server issue. It's apparently literally the date, since people are reporting that changing the date to anywhere in 2019 fixes it.
