Look into your heart; you know it to be true.

What, this isn't Resident Evil? Dying means nothing. It's simply a minor setback, if that.-radioraheem

The american prison system is a sorry mess but giving them game consoles isn't going to solve anything.

Nintendo fans were horrible back in the N64 days...

The most readily used mantra was the "Quality over quantity" argument. They tried to say that because the N64 had Zelda, Mario and Goldeneye (all great games), the N64 was thus a better system than the Playstation, which at that point had about 50 stellar titles. To them, 3 games that received review scores of 9.5 were better than 50 "9.3" games.

Also, they claimed that NOT having a bunch of great titles meant the games lasted longer and were more interesting. Having a large library lead to people losing focus on the games they owned. :)

Oh, and then there were the "cartridges are better than CDs, because if I drop my cartridge out of my second-story window or drag a rock across it, it'll still work" debates.

It was bad. REALLY bad. So many idiots, they had to close Kaybee toy stores nationwide.

I won't lie: some of the best multiplayer experiences came from the N64. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, WCW World Tour, Revenge, WWF No Mercy, etc etc...

But single player experiences are always going to be more convenient in a world when the internet wasn't on consoles yet. The quality of hidden gems on the PS1 PLUS the PS1 best sellers .....kinda blows the N64 out of the water.

RPGs really took off on the SNES, but man...they were ON FIRE by the PS1 era. Then you had titles like Metal Gear Solid or Resident Evil which really took off. Not to forget the Dino Crisis series, and the ridiculous amount of JRPGs. N64 had like...one single RPG.

PS1 only lacked first person shooters; to which I will always point at Medal of Honor. The BEST FPS on the PS1 by far. It's no Goldeneye or PD, but it can satisfy the craving.
