Been a minute since I've played a JRPG. I know this is babby's first DQ since it's not popular in the west but can anyone vouch for it? It'll be on the Switch

to it's credit, there's a shit ton of content. probably one of the longer JRPGs i've played recently. gameplay is ... a turn based JRPG, so if you enjoy that, great

on the more negative side of things, the plot is incredibly rote and predictable and the characters are massively two dimensional, but somewhat endearing

on the switch, the demo for it is about 2-4 hours long depending on your pace, and your progress carries over into the retail copy, so just try the demo, i guess, it gives you a pretty good feel for it

i'll always recommend VIII as the introduction to the series, i think it's a far better game than XI too

Its a good game if you can get it on sale. It has a couple bad story points imo, and 8 has better music.

It's okay.

On further thought, this isn't exactly right. The gameplay is okay but there were some story moments that were legit pretty damn sad. I wasn't expecting some of them.
