Either the industry self regulated or the government was going to step in and do it. Basically could have been much worse than what we ended up with.

If the ESRB hadn't been created and the government had stepped in then things like loot boxes and microtransaction might not even exist. The ESRB as a whole has been a failure. --- END OF LINE ...
