It just seems stupid to Be rushing in with swords when blasters exist. SO Ive been using blasters.

rey and luke used blasters before sabers

i just dont know if I have to level up my swordplay or something like that

I just kept mixing it up, depending on the quality of the weapon. I played through the game 3 times and played different ways and don't recall anything negative by the end of the game that I regretted doing.

IIRC there is a Finesse feat that uses DEX instead of Strength in lightsaber calculation.

IIRC, the system takes into account which is higher between DEX or STR, and rolls off that.

Have you played the game before or know the story details? It's kinda spoilery if you haven't.

Also if you do run blasters, dont get any feats related to them unless you plan to use them all game. Only special attack I would level is Flurry, because comboed with Force Speed you get a crazy number of attacks per round with a lightsaber

I just meant that if you want to focus on using a lightsaber, you can lock yourself out of some of the feat upgrades if you select ranged ones.

Blasters roll with dex

Melee (swords and sabers) roll with Str.

It won't be the end of the world if you roll with blasters til you get a saber but the saber game play is nearly fundamentaly identical to sword game play, you just get Saber throw if you invest in that power.

The Str/Dex finesse ability doesn't appear until KOTOR 2 iirc.

I always thought blasters were p ass in KOTOR 1, they're p OP in KOTOR2

Totally up to you. Using dual or double bladed kinda requires you get the dual wield feats though so your negatives on hit aren't garbage.

Doesn't matter all that much in 1, in 2 I always ran dual since there are so many solid crystals you can find.

If someone really doesn't know anything about the story, it's kinda hard to tell them to focus on swords without them guessing that means they'll be using a lightsaber later.

And if you level up on Taris, you lose Jedi feats.

I always went double-bladed green. Two blades, you have to decide whether you want two full-sized ones, or one normal and one short, like destreza practitioners.

Me personally I've usually went double bladed sword, specifically the Yusanis' Brand.

i tried this on my first playthrough and was missing like every hit i was trying to make with it. tbh i don't think it's very feasible to try and dual wield or go double bladed on Taris. no matter what you try to do you just won't have the feats to support it yet.

Well there's a better sword on Tatooine

Also if you don't get the dual weapon wielding, that's just the dual blade life, only hitting like every third hit
