I only half paid attention to the first 2 episodes while I was busy doing things in GTA San Andreas, but I got the gist of what happened, due to my knowledge from the games. This takes place 5+ years before the events of the games, I believe. Now, Yen had such troubles controlling her chaos, but she had an extraordinary amount of power. so, De Vries turned 3 of her fellows into eels so she could absorb their control from the pool? Am I understanding that correctly?

It's twisted but the students that don't pass the final test still have magic powers, so rather than let it go to waste they turn them into conduits giving their powers to Aretuza and all the mages there.

This show actually requires you to pay attention to it actively, not passively.

That's why I don't watch much anymore; I have a hard time actively watching something.

Ah, Foltest. There is your folly. Witchers still feel feelings; they just don't express them. Geralt feels empathy and love in equal measure with rage and regret.

Shit, I thought the curse was just laid on Foltest's daughter, whom was called Adda. I had no idea that it was _this_ dark. Shit, the Striga still has an umbilical cord attached to it. Damn.

I'm glad they don't cut any of the bullshit out. This is supposed to be a hard content series, and they're taking it to the fullest. The pacing is still wildly all over the place, as they try to weave 3-4 fabrics at the same time. It's good, though. Really good.

It's pretty good. I only played Witcher 1 and didn't play 2 or 3 yet but I guess Cavill's mug has already become Geralt in my head canon.

It's pretty damn close. Jawline's a little too squat on Cavill, but the casting is almost perfect otherwise.

This honestly, and they have said multiple times that this series follows the books, not the game. It's accurate to the books, the game fucked up the appearance, not the series.

The season was awesome also.. I loved it, all of it. The finale was amazing. I'm excited for Season 2. I didn't expect it to be as great as it was.

There's lots of tits, but they tone it down during the 2nd half of the season

I just watched the 3rd episode and i didn't follow it at all. The monster was the fetus of the daughter?

The curse was placed on Adda, and Adda was killed in some fashion. The curse was passed on to the unborn child, who kept growing inside the corpse of her mother until she clawed her way out as a striga.

I have no idea where to place Yen, but she's now 30 years past joining the circle and becoming a court mage. What an entertaining mess this is.

This show takes place over the course of 100 years with each early episode being a few decades apart.

Apparently that doesn't stop until the later episodes but I'm on episode 6 right now.

It's only a mess because you're trying to keep track of it, lol. I didn't play attention to the year count and I wasn't confused once. All I could tell is that Ciri was in the "present" and the other two were playing catch up to her. How many years was a moot point for me

I'm not really keeping track of where it all interweaves. I'm looking at them as separate stories until they intersect with each other. Basically, it's telling the origin stories of where everybody starts and continues along the path.

as a fan of all the games i really enjoyed it.

and you do have to pay attention, especially with the changing timelines.

i really hope the future seasons dont cave to the "GoT" comparisons and keep it to the source.

Why? It doesn't matter if 10 years or 30 years happens between his adventures. Unless there is something I simply don't know like the year matters like it does in A Song Of Ice and Fire were certain events take place in certain years, and you're waiting for him to reach year X so you can see something cool happy.

Bur right now it just it doesn't seem as if what time they're in matters until, like you said, they all play catch up. And even then it doesn't matter, all that matters is that these characters are together right now [whichever episode you're on] so they're in the same time

We've established that Witchers and Witches all live outside of the traditional realms of time. Geralt is old, and Yen hasn't aged out of her 20s in the last 30 years. I just finished episode 5. Not much to say about it, but man, it's _really_ making me want to play the games again. I love the aesthetic of the world. It's medieval Europe with magic, elves, and demons.
