1 was good and 2 and 4 were both awesome for completely different reasons. 3 sucked though.

I remember getting the I think it was called the rekka ken or sonething but it was a badass sword after going through a bunch of floors killing the strongest enemies. It was the Dark Souls of gaming at that time imo.

Really hope they remaster it.

I played 1-3 back in middle school and loved them all back then. I don't really remember too many precise details though. Played the 1 remaster and still liked it despite it being like an hour long.

How was it different every run?

Because there was a gifting system with four different support characters. So you could end up seeing one character the whole game and not other. Then play as that character and not the others. Plus some of the end game stuff with the branch you choose. There was even a section in the menu where you could see the branch and path you took

I remember critical striking an entire room of enemies on one of the floors of the Dark Realm in the first game, like one after another. The timing never synced up like that again.
