I had mixed feelings about Rise of Skywalker, but one thing that made me happy is their expansion on force bonds between people. It's always been kind of a thing in the Star Wars movies, but in KOTOR and KOTOR 2 it's a vital plot point, so them expanding on how far that bond can be pushed, to the point of it even affecting things physically in 2 different locations, makes movies based on KOTOR and KOTOR 2 much more feasible now, and I really fucking hope we get movies on them.

I'm a little annoyed that they made up a new Sith world instead of bringing in Korriban to the Disney SW canon, and I wish Luke's exile planet had actually been Rakata Prime, but I'll take what I can get.

I'm thinking a KOTOR trilogy; Taris, Dantooine, and maybe Kashyyk (to introduce Jolee as a mentor character) in the first movie, Manaan, Tatooine, and "the big reveal" in the second, then Korriban, Rakata Prime, and The Star Forge in the third movie.

They're never gonna recreate the games that closely. The best we'll likely get is a mixture of plot elements/character concepts taken from the games in a new story.

I'm gonna be real; Mandalorian stuff always really bored me. The Mandalorian show is decent, but otherwise, the only Mandalorian stuff I ever liked was stuff with Canderous Ordo.

You should, they're to this day my favorite Star Wars stories ever made, with the possible exception of A New Hope and Empire, but even then it's close.

Eh, I'd rather TOR remain a videogame/EU time period to allow writers more flexibility in what happens in the era. I guess as long as they're just "Star Wars stories" maybe it won't matter though.

The beauty of it being so distant timeline wise from the "main" series is that you can easily just say it's a legend passed down, so there can be a little more wiggle room where you can say "oh, well, it happened over 3 thousand years ago, so maybe the details are a little fuzzy."

Hell, KOTOR 2 even plays with that when you rescue Atton from his cell, and that happened only a few years after KOTOR 1.

Korriban was adapted as a planet named Moraband in the current EU. It's only on screen appearance is in the last season of the Clone Wars TV show.

Of course, the nice thing is that a planet named Korriban is still up for grabs in the EU (unlike, say, Malachor).

what I would love is a movie or trilogy about a slave forced to attend the Sith Academy and then escaping and joining the Jedi maybe. it would be kinda like the opening quests for the Sith Warrior/Inquisitor in the Old Republic mmo, but then later you actually can defect unlike in the game.

That could be a fun idea, but honestly I doubt Disney will allow any film to dive super deep into the Sith lore; Rise is probably the closest we've gotten so far, and even that was pretty shallow tbh.

I don't think they need to totally adapt it, but I do want a movie or series of movies set in that time period. Revan is canon apparently, so they can make him a part of it.

Exar Kun is pre-KOTOR EU timeline wise, isn't it? You could easily do both.

I would rather the games. Making a 'canon' lead character ruins a lot of the appeal of the Revan. Similar to Shepard in Mass Effect.

There's no real build up to a major climax in your first movie though. The closest thing is getting off Taris.

KOTOR is a very Biowarey plot. Not sure if splitting up the movies would work that well since each planet is its own sort of story.

KOTOR is better as a long running tv series NOT as movies, there is way to much content that movies wont be able to do it justice unless they make a lot of changes.

Nah, Exar Kun and Nomi Sunrider are like my favorite characters out of all of SW.

Though I'm not sure they will ever use characters outside the Skywalker Saga stuff instead of just creating new characters, even if set in the past.

I'm trying to imagine a cinematic experience where the audience votes on which dialogue option to select at various points. If a KOTOR movie is going to be made at all then that's exactly how they should do it imo.

They had an interactive movie like that on Futurama. They chose to have the robot actor do paper work instead of going on some action scene

Have Calo Nord be re-confronted on Kashyyyk, or one of Malak's apprentices, and maybe move some of the lore around so you have a bigger understanding of the Star Maps/Star Forge at Kashyyk to draw in more interest for the next 2 films.

The first one would admittedly have the weakest climax of the 3, but there's definitely ways to raise the stakes to keep the first film interesting in its own right.

That would be my biggest concern, them negating just how much pull the dark side has on Revan and his struggle with that aspect of himself, I'd fear they'd really water down that fundamental aspect of his character. Like, you'd need to show him doing some pretty sketchy/borderline stuff before the reveal, and I feel like Disney would chicken out on having a protagonist do that kind of thing.
