Just gonna say: the exact kind of people you expect to say "I don't tip" just come out and say it. No surprises whatsoever.

serving is hard work but the line cooks, bussers and dishwashers work just as hard.

Especially bussers and dishwashers. They're typically treated like shit, don't get any tip out and have to do all the shit servers dont want to do

They do at some restaurants. That's why it's so important to tip your server because they can end up paying to serve you at the end of the day.

It's never about affording the tip. It's about level of service. If you do a stellar job and go beyond what your job entails, then you deserve a nice tip. If you just do the bare minimum, then don't be surprised if your tip stinks.

Do people not understand that more servers than not are not paid a standard minimum wage and that complainig to your boss to have them make up the difference in a slow pay cycle is typically a death sentence job wise?

i always tip generously except when service is garbage, and even then i tip generously if they acknowledge it

but i don't understand why anyone would enable a business's practice of paying subminimum wages by working for said businesses and thus perpetuating their operations

of all the places i applied for a job as a broke student, i avoided the restaurant industry like the plague
