I will NEVER understand Star Wars fans, and all their bizarre things they like and dislike.

The opening crawl is just exposition, so the film doesn't have to waste 10 minutes actually showing you what's going on. It's just a way of being efficient. But the fans get REALLY excited at the crawl. I mean, and I might be wrong about this (tell me if I am), but just prior to a new film's release, they try and predict what is said in the crawl, and the exact language used. The fuck? What is up with Star Wars fans?

I remember seeing episode 3 in theaters as a kid for my friends birthday party.

He told us all to cover our eyes and not look at the text crawl because we thought it just spoiled the whole movie.

Getting people to clap at the start of a movie is incredible. People love Star Wars and it's part of the experience.

I just rewatched the Episode 1 crawl, and it's pretty bad, pretty bad. Although, I think the hardcore fans would agree with me.

It's the best part of the movie. At least it was for episode 7. That moment of hearing the music start was legendary and we cheered. Then the movie started and it was trash.
