That's not normal, right? I usually wait like 2 or 3 weeks for an email response. It startled me so much I ended up saying yes to everything, and I had to email him after saying I wasnt interested in an onsite interview after all.

It was for a junior dev position, and it'd be a pay cut from what I'm making now as an intern. Also they wanted me to start in like 2 weeks (the job posting said none of this)

congrats but don't forget to research the company, department, and role in advance via glassdoor or something like that to know what to expect or be wary of

So what your saying is you're a basic bitch unable to say no and want to blame the recruiter.

Good developers don't stay on the market for 2-3 weeks. Double that with the holidays slowing down applicants, if you see a resume you like you move on it. Plus if they are paying less than an intern they're looking for a basic bitch like you that will agree to everything and move along quickly

Yeah true. I guess I'm trying to apply to anything that looks feasible, and then would do the research later if they want a phone interview. I just really didnt expect a call back same day lol.

You can always just ask for more at the interview
Also that's not that unusual. Some recruiters are good at responding

I think the reality is that recruiters do a lot of sitting/waiting around and could probably instantly phone you in most cases anyway. Probably a bit of a faux pas to let that mask slip though
