What do you consider wealthy? I mean, I'm not in the negative, but I'm also not a millionaire

I guess it depends. Like if youre under 30, independent (pay your own bills, have a nice apartment or home, and no debt besides mortgage) and have $50,000+ in liquid cash after the fact, Id consider you wealthy because youre obviously living stress free financially at that level.

But for the sake of this topic I had millionaires and up in mind. But if youre young and feel wealthy youre more than welcome to share.

I'm not young and wealthy, but I'm not old and poor either. I guess I'm pretty good.

Hard to say exactly what my net worth is, but I'm 42 and have roughly $400,000 in accounts and stocks. So, you know, middle class

I'd classify myself in that category as well.

We're comfortable enough to afford pretty much anything sensible that we want/need, and some luxuries here and there, but not so rich that I'd say we can afford to burn money for the sake of it.

Real talk, when people lie about their salary and stuff. Why do they pretend to earn more than they do?

Isnt it better to say you arent doing as well as you really are so that others dont come to you for shit or let others know to get into your line of work because they heard it gets you the good $$$ which in turn means more competition and shit for you

I own an apartment building that brings in over $150k in revenue a year. So while I'm relatively normal I got the mortgage paid off earlier this year so now that's finally all gravy. For the last few years almost everything it made went back into paying off the mortgage as fast as possible.

Not rich but now I dont need to worry about losing my job

Edit - I should add that I own 50% of the building. That 150k is my half of the profit at the end of the company year after taxes, maintenance, and the salary for the landlord

Dont disagree. But in this day and age where you can google and find out what most peoples salary (range) is based on job title and company, its not too hard for those who at least know your name to work things out.

age 29; my net worth is apparently around the median for us households if not somewhat higher, but i'm one person, so probably a much higher percentile using individual metrics

i feel broke though, since it's largely tied up in equity and securities rather than cash, annual property tax hikes are nuts, and so i certainly don't consider myself wealthy

lower middle class from a household income standpoint, middle or upper middle from a personal income standpoint, middle class from a household net worth standpoint

i need to get married

Im 32. Without divulging too far into my personal finances, aI have approx 3:1 ratio on investments and debt.

My mortgage has a few years left, and I only owe about 1/5th the amount of my properties value.

I am fortunate, and I am comfortable.

Started working early, got a degree quickly, was fortunate enough to be able to save up which a lot of Americans dont have the luxury of doing.

I also had a couple of family members die unexpectedly within the last couple years, leaving me a decent chunk of money, which is actually what made me want to stop working and enjoy whatever time I have left.

edit: funny that Ive ended up spending a lot of that time here on CE lmao
