ngl it was a little slow in some parts.

Probably could've stood to be a strictly 90 minute movie and not been any worse off.

But it was a fairly good proof of concept for future movies

I hated it. I really don't understand what the general population sees in it. It had all the bad parts of a made for TV Nick movie.

Did not like the acting, it's plot was weak, and the story direction was planned poorly. It was the first time I disliked a movie I saw in theaters.

It's pretty good. It's definitely the most faithful adaptation of a game that doesn't translate well to live action.

Considering pokemon's whole concept is "young hero heads out to become pokemon master", there really was no way to make a Hollywood movie out of that premise and not be cringe or a clone of the anime.

The story that was told was fresh and new but still kept the heart of what makes Pokemon, well, Pokemon.

Overall a decent movie. I think it laid the groundwork for future movies with this structure.

I thought it was rather bad, but I didnt watch a Detective PIkachu movie expecting it to be good and I got what I wanted out of it.
