I'm sure most of us agree he's a bit of a jerk among other undesirable personality traits, but at least he is real. Like those are the (fairly) unfiltered thoughts of a real person, warts and all.

Instead of losing our minds over this one real guy who is a bit unpleasant, the real scourge of this fucking board are the endless alt accounts of shitposters who have only one goal in mind - cause maximum disruption and wind up other users to the detriment of everybody.

It's not like we're talking about comedy masterminds here. This isn't like that jerk from Trigger Happy TV with the giant cellphone.

This is more the Logan Paul of forum posters. Just absolute fucking goobers. Admins should be sorting that nonsense out.

Raising the board's Karma requirement would help tremendously. A lot of the shitposting comes from posters who keep getting banned and can't access 261.

People should sttop feeding them and they'll post less if at all, but that's just too hard for too many here. Since the mods and admins are useless it's up to the various communities to deal with those types themselves, but too many are just the opposite side of the same coin as these shit posters and they want attention and arguing over nothing as well all the while complaining about how trolls overrun the site. That's the politics board in a nutshell and it applies to many boards here.

Bad faith operators are a problem in any context, regardless of whether their intentions are actually genuine. At the end of the day, intent is immaterial, because we'll never really know their intent through this lens of the Internet.

Anyone who thinks Admiral is any sort of legitimate problem isn't paying attention to how often he goes in and out of trouble. Even without him getting banned, his credibility is shot to hell, even moreso than our resident trolls who come back with additional accounts.

Really, at the end of the day, I'm not so dramatic as to suggest there's a "real" problem with CE, or perhaps I'm too jaded and have been trying to detach.

The extreme majority of account thefts on GameFAQs over the years have been for one or more of (1.) LUE access, (2.) the account is a mod, (3.) grudge against the owner (either posting embarrassing shit on the stolen account or just suiciding it), and (4.) pure entertainment (usually suiciding accounts en masse). People generally aren't going to go through the trouble of stealing an account for regular board access or anonymity when they can just make a few alts and level them enough to access whatever board.

I should also point out that account security has improved greatly since the days of GFAQs' mass jackings, both with the most popular email providers (TFA alone basically defeats 99% of attempted email thefts, which is by far the most common way to steal an account) and on GameFAQs itself. If there are still accounts floating around that aren't in the hands of their original owners, they were most likely either stolen a very long time ago (long enough ago that it would be nearly impossible to prove that the current holder is not the original owner at this point) or handed over willingly by the original owner (for money or otherwise).

This is also the Admiral though. There may have been a time when he was genuinely interested in discussion, but for the past couple years at least his whole shtick has been one sentence posts that do just enough to get a rise out of people.

Addy was actually a very decent poster until 2013-ish. He's always leaned conservative, but he didn't become what he is now until the end of his tenure as a mod. That said, I believe the account is still in the hands of its original owner.

I have a theory the only reason why The Admiral isn't banned yet because someone in that Administration must think he'll change for the best. The thing is the Admiral may never change, I lost count how many times he has been warned and suspended that its crazy.

I swear he is running a new record on this site for the most suspensions and warns of one account.

Maybe SBAllen knows something about Admiral that we don't if he has managed to stick around this long.
