I think you have to press up on the d-pad while aiming at someone?

It's not an action you'd figure out easily IIRC, I think they teach you about it during a mission though.

The game mentions it whenever you do a mission where you have to herd animals.

Every single animal you see can be killed. IIRC there's like 150 different animals in the game. You can even shoot the fish.

It doesn't just spawn birds in the sky for background like other games do, the birds actually take off and land, and sometimes you can even see one swoop down and pick up a snake. You can then shoot it and get meat from both the bird and snake individually.

I just wish deadeye could still turn molotovs and dynamite into surface-to-air missiles against birds like it could in the first game.
