News media finding out that they make more money off of creating "us vs them" mentalities and encouraging political unrest rather than striving for unity and cooperation, as well as pharmaceuticals putting out psychiatric drugs whose side effects can potentially be worse than the disease (SSRIs and other antidepressants can trigger psychotic breaks in a small portion of the treated population for reasons not yet fully explored).

Honestly? I think it's the abuse of government power. The passing of more and more laws and rules and red tape that restricts people. It changes behavior and perspective so much.

We have gotten to the point where government role has expanded to such an extent that now everyone is just fighting for the government to help them out at the expense of somebody else. "Do more for ME and FUCK over those other people!"

That then affects the brain (it's really more of a chicken and egg thing) outside politics as well. It affects how parents raise their kids for example. They don't want to take responsibility because so much of their mental investment is in "what can government do to solve problems?" Just look at how people react to school shootings today. It's mostly "what can government do to correct this?" And that spills over to how many people parent their kids and that influences kids to grow up feeling entitled and that it isn't okay to have negative situations at school and in life.

I could write an entire book about this. We need to reduce government role and lower taxes and all that shit. Let people look after their own shit and be responsible for it instead of stacking the house of cards higher.

Yal would be super fucking pissed if nothing was done about this and three weeks later she does bring a gun to school. I applaud the school at least not turning a blind eye to something like this, but it should be therapy, not a fucking felony.
