You walk up to the door and buy two tickets to enter; it is a museum, after all.

You watch the mysterious music lover calmly walk by the exhibits and admire the pictures on the walls. It seems the entire room is a timeline of jazz's origins, especially here in New Orleans. You would be able to really appreciate it all if you weren't trying to keep track of the mischief making magician.

Being that this is a "Petit" museum, there isn't a lot of space or a crowd of people keeping you hidden from the man. He's likely to spot you and Raven, but there's also not anywhere else to run to. There won't be any other choice but to confront you, and you him.

You don't know what other tricks this mischief maker has up his sleeves, so you quickly assess the situation for a fight.

Again, the museum is very small, not a lot of space to move around. But there aren't as many people to worry about. The only people are the greeter that also takes care of tickets, a manager, and a handful of people admiring the museum's exhibits outside of you, Raven and the mischief maker. The other customers are almost through the tour of the jazz timeline, they'll be by the door soon enough.

"Be ready," you whisper to Raven. "We're going to creep up a little closer, and on my, you cast something for..."

wow did a lot of short ones, and suddenly I come up with a big one

"I'll take care of protecting the area around us."

"Okay," she whispers back.

The mystery man stops to look at a black-n-white picture and you stop moving forward to have Raven get closer on her own. You, meanwhile, go to the middle of the room.

"Praesidium! <Protection!>" you shout as you cast the spell. "Stasis!"

A flash of light scans around the room, and now none of the exhibit can be damaged, or even moved. The people notice the light and stay by the door. You put up a barrier to box them out, though this will limit the space available to you more.

The mystery man of course notices this, too, but Raven rushes at him. He sees her but can't get away before she grabs him in a binding spell. And he doesn't do anything in response.

"Well..." she says. "That was easy."

"Oh, well, well, it's you," the mystery man says. "My my, how do you do?"

"Good, you recognize me," Raven says. "And who are you?"

"Dennis, Neville, Prowell is who I used to be," he says. "But I'm, having, a hard time naming this new me."

"Is he rhyming?" you ask. "Why, is he rhyming? And with such mu-si-cal timing."

"Um," Raven says, "you just rhymed, too."

She then turns to Dennis.

"What did you do?" she asks him. "Wait, did I just rhyme like both of you? Oh no, I'm-"

She silences herself by slapping a hand over her mouth, but it seems her voice still wants out. Her hand suddenly moves away and she takes a big breath.

"Starting to, tooooooo~!" she basically sings.

"What magic is this?!" you demand rhythmically. "Tell us, Dennis! Why, are we, singing, our words?"

"Well you see, gentleman and dear~," he begins, "when my singing you start to hear~, and it gets all up in your brain~, it's control I start to gain! You'll do what I say~, in a musical play~, that could go all day~, if not for the vocal strain. But please, miss, let me go. We have to get on with the show!

"NO!" you and Raven both say, pointing a finger at him.

"Wait, did we mean~ to do that?" you ask, in rhythm.

"Depends, did you mean~ to do that?" she asks back, in rhythm.

"How is it~ that you do that?" you both ask Dennis, in rhythm.

"Er, this," Raven says, plainly.

"Well, miss," he says. "I'm... a...! Metahuman! Duh, of course! Though I'm not sure of~ the source. It could be genetic, or ex-po-sure. But through who or what, I'm not sure! But my origin story isn't need to know, you really should just let me go. I'm not a villain, at least not yet. I do apologize for makng you a puppet. With these powers, in this town, seeing long legs in a gown, I couldn't turn the opportunity down. I made you dance, as did others, but I didn't target anyone older than our mothers. Young ladies, single ladies, pretty ladies, Julias and Sadies, I just love those legs, baby!"

"Hmm, I do understand that," you say.

"Really?" Raven frowns at you.

"Hmm, it seems you two are quite strong~," Dennis says. "You haven't completely given into my song~. At least, not the way you did before~. So let's try a different scoooooooo-ooooooo-ooooo-ooore~!"

"Huh?" the two of you say.

Suddenly, jazz music starts playing!

"I think I know this one," you say.

"There may be trouble ahead~..." Dennis sings in a smooth voice. "But while there's moonlight and music and love and romaance~... Let's face the music and~ dance~!

Raven's spell drops as she suddenly heads for you. Your spells stay up, but you feel compelled to meet her in the center.

"Before the fiddlers~ have fled. Before they ask~ us~, to pay the bill~... and while we've still got the chance... Let's face the music and dance!"

You and Raven start by holding hands and going to your left, then spinning through to the right.

"Sooooon~... We'll be without the moon. Humming a different tuuune... And then~... There may be tear drops to shed~. So while there's moonlight and music and love and romaaaance~... Let's face the music and dance!"

You and Raven walk in a circle, really getting your hips into sashaying. You both pivot on your heels for quarter-turns to the right, then kick your right legs to your left. There's a bit of prominade and another twirl, you reel Raven in and with hand on her lower back, you give Raven a dip. As you bring her up, she hops up into your arms, and she kicks a leg up to point at the ceiling before you stand her back up.

"Before the fiddlerrrrs~ have fled. Before they ask~ us~, to come-up with the bill~... and while we've still got that chance... Let's face the music and dance!

Sooooon~ we'll be without the moon. Humming a different tuuune... And theeen~... There may be tear drops~, to shed. So while there's moonlight and music and love and romaaaance~... Let's face the music and dance~! Dance~!

"Let's face the music~! That lovely music~! Let's face the music and daaaaaance~...!"

As the song wraps up, you start getting into the literally swing of things as you lift Raven, swing her on your right hip, then up and to your left, then hold her high over her head as you spin, to bring her down to your shoulders, and turn her around so her back slides down your chest and to the floor, where she lounges with arched back and pointed leg.

The people watching on the other side of your barrier applaud, and you help Raven up so that the two of you can take a bow.

"Encore! Encore!" Dennis applauds, too. "We need even more~! New Orleans needs to be a dance floor~!"

It turns out the music was coming from an mp3 device Dennis was hiding in his hand. He presses a button and another song begins.

"This is a bit funkier than I expected," Raven says.

"There's no time to waste, let's get the show on the road~!"

Your body works on its own, and you drop the barrier keeping you three inside!

The three of you start walking outside!

"The sooner we break down~, the longer we've got to groo~oo~oo~oooove~!
Listen to the music, and let, your, body move~."

You, Raven, and even the other museum goers, are suddenly part of a sashaying, striding parade behind Dennis!

As this mobile magical musical performance moves down Bourbon Street, you build up mana in hopes of hitting Dennis with something. Nothing too damaging, just enough to stop his powers. You have the energy build in your hands and prepare for fire element. And though your feet electric slide again, you aim your arm at Dennis!

"Now get on~ up! On the floor!" Dennis continues to sing.

Your arm goes up into the sky instead!

"'Cause were gonna boogie~ oogie~ oogie~
'Till you just can't boogie no more~...!"

You don't shoot fire but fireworks into the sky!

"Ooo...!" random observers say. "Aaah...!"

"Yes~!" Dennis cheers. "Boogie no mooore~...!
You~ can't~ boogie no mooore~...!
Boogie no moooore~!
Listen to the bass, yeah~!"

As Dennis says, the bass guitar solo comes up, and you and Raven and everyone around is too consumed with disco style dance than getting away. Raven even uses her levitation to glide like she's on roller skates as she spins and circles around your shoulder rolling, hip swaying and occasional finger gunning.

With the electric keyboard, you start doing a move you feel comes from the Soul Train television program, with the hop step and hand jiving. Raven stops "skating" around to put her hands on her hips as she shimmies, and then moves into moonwalking with her hands fluffing up her hair playfully. Then the electric synth comes back in.

"BOOGIEEEEE~!" everyone sings with the song, hands to the sky with dramatic and funky poses.

With your hand, you shoot even more fireworks! You grumble in frustration, trying to focus your energy for something else.

There's more synth and dancing before another "BOOGIEEEEE~!" A third "BOOGIEEEEE~!" then a fourth, and then the chorus of "Get, down. Boogie oogie oogie!" repeats.

You look for Dennis as you dance, but you don't see him! You spin with Raven but your eyes look for his purple suit and red hair. You catch a glimpse of those colors as the song starts fading out. By the time you're not forced to dance, he's gone.

"Damn," you practically spit.

"Go up," you say to Raven.

"Already on it," she says as she floats up.

The crowd slowly stops dancing around, gaining control of themselves again. You notice a couple little boys looking up from under Raven.

"Oi!" you say as you shoo them away.

"I spotted him!" she says as she points.

You look while she flies in that direction. You make your way through the crowd as they just loiter about. You spot Dennis as he's about to take a turn onto a side street, but you start to hear trumpets.

"Dancin'! Dancin'! Danciiin~!" Dennis sings as he hits multiple disco poses. "Dancin' machi-iii-iiine~! Oh baaabe! Move it, baby!"

Raven is caught under Dennis's power again as she lands and she starts really popping and shimmying her shoulders.

"Automatic, systematic!
Full of color, self contaaained~!
Tuned and gentle to your vi-iiibes~!
Captivating, stimulating!
She's such a sexy lady!
Filled with space-age desi-iiign~.

She's movin', she's groovin',

Raven sways her hips as she bends her knees, and keeps going as she comes back up, then does a cross between trotting a kicking to get some real bounce in her step.

"Rhythmatic, acrobatic!
She's a dynamite attraction!
At the drop of a coin, she comes ali-iiive! Yeah~!
She knows~ what she's doin'! Sheee's~ super bad now!
She's geared to really bloooow~ your mind~!"

With the trumpet flares and guitar riffs, Raven waves her right arm with feet apart, then brings her feet together and arm down to sway and drop, resetting with each one. You storm over but Raven stands in your way, hand up in your face and a finger wagging at you. It even starts to go in rhythm with the music.

"Dancin'! Dancin'! Danciiin~!"

"Silentium!" you shout as you hurl a mute spell at Dennis!

Dennis is hit like a punch to the face and he staggers back! Dennis sits up and you can tell he's saying, "Ow...!" but the sound is blocked. When he realizes that, he's clearly shocked, and maybe even appalled. But Raven keeps dancing to the music!

"What?" you say. "That's not possible! Dennis stopped singing!"

"Then why am I still doing this weird trot?!" she shouts as she bounce-steps in a circle.

Dennis has a smug smile beaming off his face as he shrugs, playing dumb. You use binding magic to keep him tied up and chained to a light post. He frowns while you brain storm why Raven is still dancing against her will.

Dennis's power comes from singing. Anything he sings, even if it's just random words, are given power. He explained himself it is about hearing him. But if he isn't the singer, then how can it linger? Oh no, his power's affecting how you think.

Words given power... That's a lot like magic spells and incantations. Therefore, the wording used is key. What has he sung since all this started?

Let's Face the Music and Dance. Well, that is a bit straightforward, and has already been happening. Music causes dancing.
Boogie Oogie Oogie. Get down, boogie oogie oogie, 'til you just can't boogie no more?!
And wait! As if to emphasize on it, Dancing Machine has the line "dancing until the music stops."

Those three elements combined implanted a very strong psychosomatic suggestion that while music is playing, Raven will dance, even if she's about to collapse! You have to stop the music! But in a city like New Orleans, on Bourbon Street, easier said than done.

To start, you grab Dennis's mp3 player and stop the song. Raven stops and catches her breath, and you hurry over to block out sound.

"Sana probationem," you say as you swirl your hand around her head.

"What?" Raven says loudly. "Hey, why can't I hear anything?"

You get your phone out and quickly type an explanation.

I used a spell to keep you from hearing things, so Dennis couldn't use his powers on you

"Oh... That makes sense," she says, still loudly. "Oh, wait, am I being loud right now?"

You nod your head.

"Sorry..." she whispers. "But, didn't you use a silence spell on him?"

You nod again and type a new message.

He's already planted a psychosomatic so that you'll dance to anything
you need to not hear anything until we have a way to undo it

"But-"

You cut her off with a pointer finger on her lips, then finish typing.

and no, I don't think he'll cooperate to do it himself

"Oh, true," she says. "But, how do we know it isn't already over? You muted him and stopped any music currently, right?"

You nod, and think about that. One part was "boogie until you just can't boogie no more," but the rest was about the music ending. Which part supersedes the other?

Can't risk it. it's like hypnotism, it needs to be undone first.

She sighs, but then nods. You then go to Dennis where you left him.

"You're going to undo your spell," you say.

Dennis has an exaggerated look of confusion on his face. You grumble and grab him by his collar and strongly sit him up against the pole you anchored him to.

"You're going to undo things or I'm never undoing the silence spell," you say. "You are not going to sing ever again unless you undo what you did."

Dennis looks you in the eyes and sees you're serious. He nods, and you hand him your phone.

"Type instructions so that I can undo it," you say. "I don't trust you'll do it yourself once I let you sing again."

Dennis sighs, though you can't hear it. He starts typing on your phone.

You already know what to do!
My song choices hold the clue!
You are off to a great start,
Having figured out a part!

"Do not make this into an attempt at a song," you growl. "But you're saying there are more clues in the songs? Am I to believe you really planned that far ahead?"

Dennis raises his eyebrows as he leans in.

"Maybe you did..." you say a bit reluctantly.

You sigh and take your phone back.

Dennis's songs already have you the clue to the trigger. Raven is going to dance until she can't dance, so long as she can hear music or even singing. But Dennis is suggesting there's a way to end the spell even without him singing a cancellation.

Boogie Oogie Oogie and Dancing Machine are all about dancing. But the first song, Let's Face the Music and Dance. That song is about the music ending. That has to be the key.

Soon we'll be without the moon, humming a different tune, and then... Blah blah, so while there's moonlight and music and love and romance. The use of "and" as a conditional, all four parts need to be in play. You can't very well give up on love and romance with Raven, but the other two, moonlight and music. You have music out of the way for right now with the silence insulation spell. But it's now night so the moon is out.

You go to Raven while typing another message.

Moonlight, music, love and romance
Those four need to be present together to keep the psychosomatic in place
We'll have to stay away from music until the morning now

"Okay," she says. "Oh, sorry, was that too loud?"

You give the "so-so" hand.

"Sorry," she says, back to whispering. "So I guess no dinner out? Just go back to our hotel room?"

Yes and once you're back in the room, I'll go back out to get something
but first we need to get someone to take dennis into custody

"Right," she says. "Probably more a Titans or Justice League thing since he's got powers."

You nod and take out your communicator.

"Um... Hello," you say. "Are there any Titans in the area?"

"Oh hey there, Senor Campeon," Pantha responds. "What do you need?"

"We just need to hand over a captured criminal metahuman," you say. "Are you able to make your way to New Orleans?"

"New Orleans?" a voice behind her says. "Sounds awesome!"

"Well, now that Escarabajo knows, I guess we can't turn you down," Pantha says. "We'll make our way there in our jet. Where are you exactly?"

"We'll meet you at our hotel," you say. "Find the Riverside Hilton, which should be easy, as it is by the river."

"Okay then," Pantha says. "We'll see you in an hour."

"See you all then," you say.

You hang up and type up a message to Raven.

Pantha and Titans South are on their way
we'll head back to hotel now

"Okay," she nods.

You take the binding spell chain off the street light and use it to pull Dennis along. You and Raven make your way with him in tow and return to Fritz's where Shadowfax waits. Raven fetches your helmets out of the knapsack while you bring Dennis around to the side.

"Shadowfax," you say, "sidecar."

Shadowfax rumbles to life and produces metal from the side you're standing on. It uses the air and heat produced by the engine to make the sidecar through Alchemy, from frame to shell to seat and wheel. But in return, Shadowfax can't go as fast as without it, as both a physical limitation and a requirement of the magic.

"Wow!" Raven says, back in her loud voice. "Impressive."

You sit Dennis down in the sidecar, then you go around to hop on. Raven does her best to sit side saddle, mostly because now she has to. You then drive away and back to the hotel.

You arrive without much time wasted. With a lot of time before Titans South arrives, you park and yank Dennis out of the sidecar. The sidecar disappears, returning to the world as air and heat. Raven puts the helmets away for you as chain Dennis up to a pillar.

"Don't mind him," you say to the random assortment of people passing by. "He's a supervillain in the making, so we're taking him in. We're with the Teen Titans."

You look around but obviously Titans South can't be here already. It'll be boring just doing nothing. And you're starting to get hungry.

You type up another message.

"Okay," she nods. "Though, I guess if I can't hear their jet, I'll have to watch the skies."

You give her a kiss on the forehead before hopping back on Shadowfax and heading out.

You don't want to go too far for something like McDonald's or Burger King, but a lot of the restaurants are normal sit-in dining establishments. Luckily you find a McDonald's on Canal Street, though you suppose it is more that McDonald's is just everywhere.

You park and walk in as it is in the middle of the street, wall-to-wall with other buildings. It is also a bit busy but you've already found it, no sense in wasting time looking for something else.

You wait and wait, and after perhaps 30 minutes, you get to the front.

"Yes, I'd like two 10-piece McNugget meals," you say. "Large fries and large Cokes."

"What kind of dipping sauce would you like?" the cashier asks.

"Both, please," you say. "Sweet 'n' Sour and Barbecue."

The cashier nods as the price comes up.

"$12.21 please," she asks.

You hand over the money, and she hands you the receipt with a number on it. You move aside to wait with a few others. Naturally, their numbers are called first. Others join you, and with the exception of someone only ordering drinks, the others wait after you.

After about 10 minutes, you get your order. You are careful with the cup tray carrying your drinks as you make your way out of McDonald's. You return to Shadowfax, brace your food with magic and make your way back to the hotel.

You're careful as you pull up by Raven, as she still can't hear you. You walk up to Raven from the front so that she spots you. She smiles and sees the food. She takes a soda from the tray and sticks a straw in to sip.

You look and see it is obvious that Titans South hasn't arrived yet, because Dennis is still stuck to the pillar. With your hands full, you can't quite get your phone out to communicate with Raven. You motion to Raven to hold the bag for you, and she does. You then bring out your phone from your pocket and type a message.

Let's find a place to take a seat

You and Raven look around, but there are no benches in sight. You type a new message.

Let's sit on Shadowfax.

"Okay," she says.

You go back over and both sit side-saddle on Shadowfax's seat.

"Sorry about this, boy," you say. "But we've got to keep an eye on Dennis while watching for Titans South."

You pat his handlebars while Raven sits the bag on her lap.

"Oh, nuggets," she says. "That's good. Though, a bit tricky given the dipping sauce."

You nod and shrug, trying to communicate you didn't think about it. The two of you do your best to balance the little boxes of nuggets, with the fries in the empty half, as well as the dipping sauce, as you eat and wait.

Though it should've been obvious, you only now put together that you didn't do any of the souvenir shopping, you didn't visit the Museum of Death, and you didn't get to go to Bon Ton Cafe for dinner. You also still have voodoo alley searching to do, but you only paid for another day at the hotel.

Raven sighs but nods, busy chewing on a chicken nugget. You nod and put your phone away to continue eating.

Dennis frowns and squirms in his seat as he looks at you from the pillar you stuck him to. He points with a foot at your food, upset you aren't sharing with him.

"Sorry, could you speak up?" you taunt him.

You eat without sharing even the smallest chip, er, fry with him.

You hear something flying in and feel wind kicking up. You shield your food as the Titans South land their jet. The back opens and Pantha exits with a young man who appears to be made of fire and another young man in a black-and-blue body suit. You and Raven wave to them and they head for you.

"Hola," Pantha says.

"Hey there," Raven says over you saying, "Good to see you."

"Rorek, this is-"

"Oh, this is Hot Spot and Blue Beetle," Raven says, cutting Pantha off.

"Sorry," you apologize for her while still shaking hands with everyone. "I had to insulate her from sound or else Dennis' powers would keep her dancing."

"His name's Dennis?" Pantha asks.

"He hasn't yet choicen a villain name," you say. "For now he's just a troublemaker using his newly discovered metahuman powers."

"He powers make people dance?" the Blue Beetle says. "How?"

"His singing has a hypnotic element to it," you say. "He basically planned a playlist to sing so that Raven and others will dance whenever there's music. I'm sure there are others out there as we speak, still dancing because he hasn't called an end to it. But I've made sure he can't make any more noise with a silence spell."

"Oh okay," Blue Beetle says. "Well I think I have a way around that."

Blue Beetle's suit produces mechanics that then create a collar. He puts the collar around Dennis and steps back to press a button on his arm.

"Okay, let the silence spell down," he says.

You do with a snap of your fingers.

"-off me," Dennis says, but in a monotone voice. "Wait. Is that my voice? What did you do to my voice? I don't even sound angry because of what you did to my voice."

"Which means your songs won't sound musical either," you say.

"Boogie oogie oogie," Dennis desperately tries. "Get down. Boogie oogie oogie."

"Nope," you say. "Just monotone."

Pantha has grip of Dennis as you free him from the binding spell.

"Let's get you somewhere nice and quiet where you can sing to yourself," Pantha says as she drags him along.

"I will get you for this," Dennis threatens, his face angry but voice still flat. "I will make your life, into a musical misery when I... get... free..."

"Even now you're trying to sing?" you laugh as you bring your phone out again.

Dennis can't sing thanks to Blue Beetle's collar

"Nice," Raven says. "Then can you let me hear things again? This is getting disorienting."

Once we get to our room

"Thank you so much," you say to Titans South. "We're not sure when, but we'll visit Mexico before returning to California. Maybe you can show us around."

"Certainly," Pantha says.

"Come through El Paso and I can hook you up!" Blue Beetle says.

"Yes, that sounds good..." you say.

You and Raven wave bye as Titans South drag Dennis into the jet and take off. You and Raven gather up your things before you put Shadowfax back in the parking lot. From there, the two of you go into the lobby, to the elevator and back to your room. You sit on your beds and you undo the insulation. And you can see on her face that she can hear things again.

"Oh wow," she sighs in relief. "I didn't think I'd miss that sensation of just hearing the air around me as I moved."

"Sorry it took that long," you say. "And just so we don't have to worry about the psychosomatic being triggered, I say we don't even bother with the television."

"Well, okay," Raven shrugs. "But what do we do instead?"

"Let's just talk, relax," you say. "Figure out some things for the rest of the road trip."

"In which case, do we really have to skip the Museum of Death?" she asks.

"You agreed to in order to find the voodoo district," you say. "We visited the LA branch, which feels like enough death for one lifetime. And souvenir shopping can be done anywhere."

"That's true," she sighs as she sits back against pillows. "And voodoo is really only voodoo here in New Orleans. So then, where should we start?"

"Well we passed it as we followed behind Dennis," you say. "There was the voodoo temple. We can check that out and see where it leads us."

"Okay," she says. "So maybe around lunch time?"
