Match 1 is probably my favorite setlist vs. my least favorite setlist among those that are left... which may not be saying much considering we're down to 10. Though it may (may) still apply even if you include the snubs left too (probably not though there's at least one in there that'd Probably get rated even lower). That said, Engage the Enemy is certainly one of XC's better songs if you ask me. Some real nice stuff, makes a "my favorite vs. least favorite" thing much closer than you might think but I'd still go with Float Age in the end.

Today will inevitably be a painful day because I'm expecting to hear negative comments about Engage the Enemy or see votes against it, and it might even lose the match! ...but I suppose all of us can relate to that pain at some point during these contests.

Xenoblade Chronicles - Engage the Enemy - Flotage isn't bad, though... at least the noise level is more tolerable than some of the other DoDonPachi music! The guitar solo's good, too. So many cool instrumentation subtleties in Engage the Enemy, though....the chords at the beginning and end.... the emotions, man, the emotions...serious, sad, tragic, hopeful.......and the slow tempo really allows the listener to absorb every last sound and feeling....

Pokmon Super Mystery Dungeon - Second Dark Matter Battle - my least favorite PSMD entry vs. my least favorite REFLEC entry....I love both games' music, yet I like Second Dark Matter Battle way more than the other....

Pretty solid first match, not much to say here other than these are both enjoyable.

I entered this topic fully expecting to vote for my favorite PSMD song over whatever Reflec Beat had to offer, but I was completely not expecting this! This has a really cool power metal thing going on, good match!

I was 50/50 on whether to include Advanced Track or Expert Track in this setlist. I actually really love this one, my initial reservations were on if anyone else would, but after some feedback, I decided to include this! Ironically enough, I feel its opponent has the same pitfall as this track, in that I feel it's a bit too short.

First match is infinitely harder than expected. I forgot how much I love Engage the Enemy, damn that is a good match.

I tend to like 96 even outside his prog stuff (no shock, I even like his early 2000s royalty free music) so I guess you can count me on the FL81 side of the writeup trends... Even though I'm voting otherwise. Unfortunately, SDMB is just slightly higher for me today. I've loved this song since I first heard it. Another good match.

Ah, this match. I love Advanced Track!!! Happy 80s-esque stuff is always a joy for me. On the other hand, Midnight City very specifically fits its name in very arguably the best possible way to me. Ooh, this is hard. Ooh, this is good.

This day is too good. This day is hard to decide, but I am very happy to pick anything here.

Flotage doesn't do it for me like the early DDP tracks. EtE one of the best Xenoblades.

Ragnarok is freaking awesome. Just wish it was even longer. Love how Rhapsody the beginning is. SDMB starts poorly, but it gets a little better as it goes.

MR2AT's okay I guess. Don't like that one repeating motif. Midnight City isn't my thing at all.

No time for writeups unfortunately. Second match is very close. Third match is too, but the songs aren't as good. I'd say Engage the Enemy is the best song up today and it seems quite a few people share that opinion lol.
