According to Bill Burr you should never apologize. He says to just wait it out until people find something else to be mad about.

If anything the fact this came out an entire month before the election will help it fade off easier, plus if the first week was any indication the CPC is going to have its hands full defending its own candidates, and it honestly looks like the more exposure Scheer gets the less people like him.

So we'll see. At the very least the CPC isn't polling at numbers that would suggest a majority.

This will mean the candidate dirt the Liberal war room had ready like from week 1 will probably go to waste. Cabinet ministers can't tweet out old dirt on other candidates without calling attention to Trudeau. Could get some of it out in other ways.
