Just aggressively okay. Not bad, not great. Bill Hader did a fucking great job. James McAvoy kinda sucked. Jessica Chastain was alright. CGI was terrible at times, and okay at other times.

It didn't have to be 3 hours. There was a whole lot of nothing going on at times. Some of the editing was pretty bad too. Worth a watch if you liked the first.

I thought the same thing. Bill was great and the guy who played Eddie was phenomenal. I loved him in Generation Kill but the casting here was perfect.

Thought the same about James. People seem to be raving about him but he was the weakest aside from Mike imo (who they just straight up butchered). Mike got the shit deal in both movies so hard but this one really went beyond fucked with him.

Agree with the pacing/plotting. Cool to see some Easter eggs and shout out to the novels but it all seemed super rushed and forced. Like I read the books so I know how important the fort was, and I was very vocal about it not being apart of the first chapter again. Id rather them have left it out all together though instead of a quick 10 minute scene where its like ya, this is home! Remember all the good times we had off screen?.

That sums up how I felt about a lot of the movie. Also the forced action scares wares thin quick, like you have the atmosphere for something creepy but instead You send naked alien grandma running out. I just started laughing in the theater I couldnt even help it.
