Thats commonly how sex is identified prenatally nowadays, with a blood draw called cell-free fetal DNA

Which is to say, it's a lot more complex than just what they have between their legs at birth, and that there's a variety of chromosomal configurations that would still fall well within one range or the other, as well as plenty that could fall into an indeterminate range. :l

A clinically insignificant proportion of patients, sure. No screening test is 100% sensitive or specific.

This doesnt make sense and goes completely against the idea that gender =/= sex

A birth certificate simply states the physical sex. Nothing more, nothing less. And Im pretty certain that the physical sex is an irrefutable fact that can be noted at birth,

Are they saying that gender and sex are the same thing now? Does that mean people can change their Date of birth on a whim if they feel like they were born in the wrong generation. (or if they want to get that social security pension early)

Seems like a weird law. I thought a birth certificate was more or less like a receipt for a baby.

Intended to reflect the information at the time of birth. Its not like we update the birth certificate when our weight changes.

It makes plenty of sense, you just don't seem to get it. I already explained why it's important to be able to make these changes.

I understand changing the gender on commonly used IDs like driver's licenses and passports. Why is it important to alter a birth certificate?

Since I can't edit, I should point out that I haven't gone beyond the OP.
