Unless your colleague is going to guide you around all the time. Make sure you have 4 change for a bus ticket every day. That is very necessary. You can jump on and off at any point with a ticket. If you try to pay by card, you pay 1.70 for a single bus ride - you cant buy a day ticket with a card. Prepare to do a lot of walking. The city is huge. I got lost several times and found myself just walking and walking. The most convenient free toilets are in Wetherspoons by the train station.
