3 Made Big Boss cooler than Snake.

Sure, the follow up games with Big Boss weren't as good, but it's not like MGS4 gave Snake a good game to end on either.

MGS3 > 1 > 2 > 4 >>>> 5

Looking back, 4 and 5 were pretty bad in all regards but gameplay. 5 played great but was such a massive disappointment on the story side of things (which is equally important as the gameplay in the MGS series).

MGS2 was the first MGS game that I owned and thus got to play a crap ton of. I really enjoyed the gameplay of 4 and 5 but I didn't get to play 4 that much cause my PS3 died and when I finished 5 it felt unfinished and then I read that's because it was unfinished. So MGS2 gets my vote cause to this day it's still the MGS game I put the most time into.

Eventually you come to realize a lot of time the "fans" that complain about something are just the vocal minority. I remember when MGS 2 came out, people were whining constantly about only a small portion having Snake playable.

Close call between Snaker Eater and Phantom Pain. Went with Snake Eater because the conclusion to Phantom Pain was so incredibly half-assed.

Same. Story for 3 game play for 5. Being able to replay missions whenever you want really helps as it makes it my go to mgs game when i have the itch to play one but dont want to play through a whole story.

MGS2 hands down, its the smartest game in the series. Also, Rising and Ghost Babel arent Metal Gear Solid games, theyre Metal Gear games.

I've only played 1-4 and mgr, and 2 is my favorite. I've liked all the ones I've played, though. Mgr is great, but not really a metal gear solid game since the gameplay is just so different
