So if gender dysmorphia isnt a choice then how can we say people are transphobic for who they find attractive if that's also not a choice?

What people dont bother ask is why its ok to mock or bash people with phobias in the first place.

You dont choose to have a phobia, its just something that occurred either naturally or due to trauma within someone.

I think it is in a way, because you're discriminating them from your dating pool. But I also think it's acceptable to discriminate in certain situations. Who you allow in your personal/dating life is one of those situations.

I'm speaking strictly in the friendship standpoint only. Is it racist to say you won't be friends with a black person, and is it transphobic to say you won't be friends with a trans?

That's the only point i'm making, and it's not from a factual standpoint, it's more of a genuine question, or is there enough of a separation in meaning to make them different?

Race and gender are not comparable and that would absolutely be racist. A person's skin color is a superficial quality and has nothing to do with their personality.

The only possible defense I could see for this is that being Trans is a choice and you can't control the color of your skin.

It's also much more jarring to see a trans person than seeing someone of a different skin color.

That's just my hypothesis
